San Diego State will not recognize a homecoming king or queen this year. Instead, the honorees will be referred to as "royals," a gender-neutral term.

I gave a workshop on Friday about issues faced by non-binary students. The issue of homecoming king/queen was one of the cases I brought up. Nice to see someplace has found a way to deal with that.
