It's bad taste (and so is the whole movie), but I don't think it's transphobic. I think it was aimed more at androgynous models like Raine Dove than transgender individuals. I am curious to what Raine Dove thinks about it though. I'll have to ask her.

It may not be transphobic per se but you can bet it makes it way into the vernacular as a trans shaming exercise fairly quickly.

Yeah that is a thing, the people involved will say it's just a joke not meant with spite but they can't control how the joke is repeated or who by...

The problem with this is that this trivializes what it is to be transgender and that some people will start to think it's OK to do this.

If a cis guy asks me this, I will be tempted to kick him as hard as I can in the groin and then ask him the same question.
