Hi all

Does anyone know of any good and cheap electrolysis places in or around Sydney.

The only local place that does it here has quoted me a ridiculous amount.

Thanks

There are sadly no reasonable prices when it comes to electrolysis, especially if you want to have a job that is thorough and effective, permanent and scar free and professional.

I'd highly recommend Advanced in Paddington but they aren't cheap. They use multi probe galvanic and specialise in it. The techs are highly skilled and experienced. They also have many trans clients so they know what is required to remove beard hair effectively and permanently. That last part in particular I'd what really sold me on them.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll check them out.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you in total?

To be honest I haven't kept track. Not because I have money to burn, I'm just not awesome at finances. But I've had 120 hours over two years. On average I was doing 3 hours sessions every two to three weeks. I'm almost finished, yay!

The thing is that you can pace treatments to suit your financial situation. I wanted to barrel through mine so after I realised it wasn't going to work on my salary I took out a loan to act as a safety net.

A three hour session at Advanced is about $450.

I just started, just had second session today $200 (90mins).... after xmas is over will get a weekly series set up, think it's be around $ 220 per 2 hour session (including probe, a bit more for galvanic when I move to that) its $135 for an hour (with probe)

No not cheap, but the Electrologist I use has been very good, must admit it has not distressed me at all.

As Grace said "permanently" and in my case I have a lot of very pale facial hair so Electro is the only method.

My Electrologist is closer to my work too which makes it easy for me... (as long as I am in the office ;))

The Sydney endocrinologist Dr Jon Hayes does electrolysis. I forget the price, but I think its competitive.

I also forget what technology he uses, but I'd be very surprised if its not good. The one thing I do remember is that because he's a doctor he has decent painkillers, like nitrous oxide and more. The thought of no pain pushed everything else straight out of my head.

I also go to advanced electrolysis in Paddington and would definitely recommend them. They are expensive though but I don't think cheap electrolysis really exists :) They are trans friendly and very professional. The more hours you do in a session the more economic it is but 3 hours is probably the limit. And it hurts. I got my GP to give me a script for codine to help with the pain and they put emla cream on your lip to numb the pain a little. I didn't know Dr Hayes did it and if he has nice painkillers I would definitely look into that. Electrolysis is long and expensive process but it feels so good to see the permanent results. I've just done 70 hours and can't wait to finally finish. Good luck with it. xxx

I go to Kirsty Story in Hornsby, I think she is competitively priced at $80 per hour and is very trans friendly. She is doing a very throurgh job for me; we have just finished my moustache area, which was very painful, but the rest of the face hasn't been too bad pain wise. But the pain has been worth it, it is amazing to feel my face hair free.
