I have been through the struggles and support. The struggles were with my mom and her side of the family. When I first came out 2 years ago,she told me get out of her house and said I am out of her life. Her family followed, they said it was a burden and forbidden with me transgendered.I have not talked to her ever since. My dad and his side of the family has been great to me,they believe in love and accept people for who they are.My dad calls me Lisa now and says he has a daughter now although l live fulltime as female deciding not to go through the transition. He knew I was holding a long time secret and was in the closet about something. My dad said he still loves me after I came out to him two years ago.Plus he says I am a lot better person than before.

I'm so sorry to hear you were treated that way by your mother. How anyone can treat their child so hatefully I have no idea. It is fantastic though that you do have the support of your father.

Sometimes family members just don't get it. Sorry your mom was so mean to you. I'm glad your father is supportive though.

Lisa, so sorry to hear how your mom treated you. It's wonderful your dad is supportive though and at least you have him to stand by you. Hugs

I'm glad one of your parents are supportive. I have no idea if either of mine will be. When my Mom caught me in her clothes as a kid she said i was a sin. My dad was just an abusive  ass hat. I unfortunately live with him. Good Luck with your journey Chloë Jade

My mom was more resistant than my dad also, which was surprising considering the ways my dad tried to mold me while I was growing up.

I'm blessed that my mom accepts who I am.
