My doc has prescribed estradiol patches and yesterday was my first day wearing one.  I'm guessing it's psychosomatic but I swear I've been getting odd sensations in both nipples.  Is this possible or just wishful thinking?  By the way, hello everyone, I'm Carri - a newbie here.  Old (as in age) but new (as in joining this on-line community).

I suspect its probably a placebo affect, but hormones affect people differently. I do know mental changes are common for most people around the 1 week time frame. For me it took 3 months.

Hi Carri,

Welcome to Susan's Place!  I started spiro and finasteride in July, and my endo added estradiol patches in August.  The patches definitely had an effect mentally within the first week, but I did not feel anything unusual in my nipples until about two months later, when the spiro and estradiol dosages were increased. Now they hurt all the time, lol!

With kindness,

Terri

I suppose it's possible but then I have no idea about the efficacy of patches. All I can say is congrats, Just sit back and enjoy the ride...because even if what you're experiencing now is psychosomatic it won't be for long! :)

Thanks to all!  I'm not seeing anything but I'm sure feeling things.  Not quite pain, but sensitive, some soreness and a twinge once in while.
