I got a jewelry making kit for x-mas and tried my hand at making some earrings. Here is my first attempt at making them. I like them, especially the sound they make as they make. They are plastic but make a tinkle sound none the less, sort of like the plastic clear icicle for x-mas trees.

That was your first endeavor? Wow!

I've never hear of wind chiming ear rings. (tinkle, tinkle) Could be a new fad. ;D

Seriously they look great Kendra. They look like a work of art.

Well done Kendra!

I'm a sucker for jewelry[1] and those are very pretty (=

[1] I took a college class (um ages ago now) on jewelry making, it was very fun (=

Now you've gone and done it. Now you'll be hanging out at the bead shops and such looking for more beads for your latest fab creations. I can see it now Catherine Zeta Jones walking down the red carpet at the Oscars sporting, "Jewelry by Kendra."  :)

Yes very fun to create. I like doing different crafts. I want to try 3 tear drop pair, a good single one with a good charm design on the end, a modified one like this one with a hanging strand from the top, and then try some necklaces and bracelets. I get today off so will head by the local crafts store. Making some of the charm pieces with clay is also something I want to try.

Yes I will definately be looking for beads and additional parts. Lol, that would be funny if Zeta wore those.

Wish I would have taken jewelry making in college. Pottery, painting, drawing, fashion illustration, drafting, graphic arts, and general art were the art classes I took back then. It must have been fun.

I have been wearing it around a lot trying to improve my design for the next one, based off  on how it feels, the length,  and how it hangs. Just to get a feel for how it is.

Well I am happy at such a response. I always like looking at others stuff that is homemade so if anyone else has made any they can post any pictures here too. Here or in any of my other posts.

Neat!!! Kendra

I really like those. I like crafts too. I sew and do home decorating projects, I also weave baskets country or indian and even some with antlers for the handles. It's very saticfing to see the finished product. I wove an over-sized Baby-cradle for a set of twins once. It turned out wonderful and will last for ever. I'm one of those people that likes to try new things out. Lots of my neighbors like to go through my trash because if I don't like what I made I pitch it and they think its neat and take it home.

Anyway thanks for sharing that was neat! Just very cool.

Smiles,
Peggiann

You did a great job Kendra, and I love the ear rings.

Guess i will just have to get my ears pierced so that i can wear some of that lovely jewellry.
I have always envied ladies with pierced ears, as they have so much nicer things to choose from..

Keep up the good work, and mybee I will have to put in my Christmas order too

I would love to see some of your works Peggiann. I am a fan of crafts.

Yes, I pierced my ears last July for my birthday present and have loved it ever since. Before I only had available 4 sets of clip ons. Now the door is wide open with pierced ears.

I pierced my own ears with a safety pin I soaked in alcohol. Have to make sure you can keep at least a basic stud in a few weeks, especially the first week. And clean them regularly. Also helps having a little help to push it through and make them evenly placed.

Here is me wearing them right now

Here are the beads I used to make it

Here is me trying to decide on my 2nd project for a necklace

And my girlfriend is making some herself

Hey Kendra,

Very nice work. Recently a bead place opened up near my work and I thought who would want that many beads? I know now that handmade jewellery is really popular. Yours is right up there with the best I've seen.

I have some more pics to add showing the next few items made. I am not going to reupload them to the other site like I did with the others (I have to do that since this other free website hoster doesnt allow it to work). I am buisy doing several things today, and wanted to quickly post this since I just took the pictures and uploaded them. You can see them if interested at http://kendrawickham.bravehost.com/jewelry.html. If I get some more free time I will upload them and post them here.
