Hey everyone who hangs around youth talk!
I was wondering how being trans (especially full-time or dressing) has affected relationships, crushes, and intimacy and everything that goes along   In that regard, specifically in high school. Just wondering what life may be like in the future (I'm a freshman)

Honestly, I've never been in a real relationship before. But I can say that when I get crushes I'm afraid to act on them because I feel that the girl wouldn't see me as a real guy (Most kids in my grade know I'm trans). Although now that I've started T I hope that with some changes my confidence will go up so I won't have to think about that. Most of the time I'm thinking about school work anyways lol.

When my partner was younger (they're non binary) they had few relationships because not many young people could / was willing to accept or respect their gender identity, most people misgendered them and refused to respect their chosen name.

It may be easier for binary depending on 'passing' for other young people to understand, teenagers have proven to be typically more ignorant and a lot of what parents believe will influence them, so if they come from a transphobic / homophobic family, it will reflect. It sucks, and I hate saying it, but things have been tough in the past and depending on where in the world you are, things may be slow to improve, but this doesn't mean that you shouldn't try or that you should be able to date.

The only thing you can do is try it and see what happens, just remember to stay safe (in every possible meaning of the word).
