Hello all,

I have been struggling with this for sometime. I rarely get the opportunity to out dressed in anything but guy mode. But when I do, I have a couple of different wigs to choose from. What I struggle with is that I haven't found the one yet that I feel is "me". I am currently growing my hair out but it will be quite some time before it has any real length to it.
Part of me just wants to dress the rest of the way, and do the short hair up as much as possible.

Has anyone tried this?

Short hair can be very fem and cute, you just have to be creative! I.E. Headbands with sideswept bangs, Cute berettes, and my favorite, hats/barets. Just look how beautiful Jamie lee curtis is!

Just my thoughts, but short hair can be so so so adorable! (Especially with bangs!...but that's just my opinion of course) I definitely don't think there's any reason to be worried about short hair not being feminine enough, so if you feel like that's easier while you're growing out your own hair and the wigs just don't feel right, then why not? :)

Ask yourself, do I like short hair or long hair. I have been growing it out over this year after a mistake of cutting it short which made me very depressed. I knew right there again one I was a girl for real and I could never go without short hair ever again. I wouldnt go through that kind of pain again but if you want short or long is up to you.

I know that I can't wait to have a ponytail and I have had my hair get thicker due to medicine and it has gotten longer but I also know that it doesnt mean girls with short hair are not girls either. Be yourself!! :)

I've always preferred girls with short hair myself; it looks really cute and long hair tends to get in the way of things. As such, I think it's only fair that I apply this attitude toward myself. Shorter girls' hairstyles are still longer than guys' by a decent amount though, and I do need to grow some of mine out still.

Thank you for your points of view.
I personally like longer hair on woman, but also agree that a short style can be very attractive.

I think I'm going to try the short hair and for go the wig on my next outing!!!

I feel like I am working on so many fronts right now trying to find the look that I'm comfortable with, it is a bit daunting.

This week I just finished my first month or hrt, next week I have my 2nd laser treatment (face and full body) and I have Rhinoplasty.
All good things..... Just a lot at once.

I am now beginning to find my feminine style after recently coming out.  I'm not a big fan of wigs personally because I want as much of me to be authentic as possible.  I died my hair blonde and am just doing a short pixie cut while my hair grows out.  This works well because especially since I haven't started HRT it goes with my face better.  But you do what is comfortable for you.

Pixie cuts are super cute! I was going to go pixie, but my hair is getting longer, and I just couldn't bare to cut it! I stopped her in tears shouting "Lets just do black with blue highlights!" She's also my electrolysis, so she understood, and teased me about it, saying I'm such a girl.. lol

I'm not sure I could pull off a pixie. I'm still presenting as male at work and none of my friends know, although they may suspect. Unfortunately I have to maintain the fascade for awhile longer.

I also want as much of me to be authentic, for it to be all me, or as much as possible. So here is my next question, what can a girl do, post orchiectemy and or hrt to regrow thinning hair?

Take biotin.. But not only does it speed up head hair unfortunately

I'm definitely not looking for hair anywhere else.

Aww!

I'm so tempted to do a pixie cut myself but my hair is currently longer and similarly I just can't bring myself to cut it right now. (I also have some issues with thinning hair that I need to first take care of before I do much with my hair). I tend to personally like my hair no longer than shoulder length (where it's just about at now). A pixie cut is probably in my future though, probably also going blonde is too...

I have almost naturally black hair, I thought about trying blonde someday, but not sure how that would turn out. But I definitely need to take care of the thinning, somehow.

If the hormones and hair care can bring you back from thinning to full that will be great, but in my experience that doesn't commonly happen. Like me you may find yourself in the same boat as many women with thinning hair. If you still have enough on the sides and back, a hairpiece called a "topper" could do the job for you. There are all sorts of toppers, some that clip to the top of the hair, some that are installed and must be changed every couple of months or so and so on.

I've long been a wig enthusiast, even when I had abundant hair. It's nice to have easy options on hand, but it's not easy to find and fit one that works really well for you. For me human hair wigs and lace fronts are the only way to go. A good HH wig needs to be well cared for though.
