Hey guy's iv'e never really been on this part of Susan's before but i figured i'd give it a shot i have a question about Top surgery i guess iv'e been really nervous sense i just came out to my parent's and also asked for the pronouns "He/Him" to be used, That being said and done with my next step in life would be top surgery. I'm not that concerned about how the scaring is going to exist more then how the scaring is going to be shaped. I also am very little informed about top surgery and i live in a very small area that has very little information and i'm concerned i don't know where to find this info and i don't even know how the surgery works in it's self and i mean nothing does anyone know of any good videos speaking about top surgery and not so much on end results but instead talking about what happens instead? I have trouble reading/understanding links posted so videos are best for me and so far all iv'e gotten is end results and peoples feelings and that's good to see and everything but i need to understand this stuff before i jump into the box completely any help? (I'm sorry if my spelling and grammar isn't the best my spell check isn't good and i struggle in that part of learning.)

if you go to google and type in "mastectomy pdf ftm" the second link is a pdf from rainbowhealthontario which provides pictures (which i guess works if you are a visual learner and like videos) and reading on what to expect. it is the same pdf i got when i was getting ready for surgery. it was very helpful imo. it lists the different procedures, risks, etc. too.

Transbucket has loads of results you could look at. Once you've done some investigation, I'd recommend sorting it by surgeon so you can get a feel for each surgeon's individual "flair". Some of them have done so many of these that they have very particular ways of doing things that make it easy to pick out that it's theirs.

This is a video of the actual procedure being performed by Dr. Medalie, who is one of the better known surgeons:

I would not recommend watching it if you are squeamish. There is a ton of good information out there. If visual stuff is what you need, YouTube is probably the best option. There are tons of medical providers who have recorded the procedure and made it available online. There are also lots of guys who have put themselves out there and recorded many aspects of their medical transitions.

I would recommend using this board as well. Lots of people here are either at a similar stage or beyond it, and there are loads of threads that can help once regardless of what stage in the process you're in.
