At the moment to be honest I'm an XL and I desperately need to stop eating so I can get my dream dress. I'd like to get to a size 9 , but I might be hallucinating .

"What is the average size for a woman?

Today, the average American woman is 5'4″, has a waist size of 34-35 inches and weighs between 140-150 lbs, with a dress size of 12-14. Fifty years ago, the average woman was 5'3-4″ with a waist size of approximately 24-25″, she weighed about 120 lbs and wore a size 8".

My ideal size is always one size lower than what I am.  That makes it kind of hard to ever reach that ideal.  Lucky for me I like to eat too much to ever become anorexic.

Seriously, the healthy way to do it is to ignore sizes and to focus on your body composition, mostly body fat level, and get that within healthy limits.  Then you will be at the right size for your particular body structure.  Some things just can't be changed, like bone structure for instance, and that goes for CIS as well as trans.

People today are larger and a lot of that is due to obesity but I'm not convinced 50 years ago and today is a completely legitimate comparison.  People are bigger and taller today and that has a lot to do with improved nutrition, improved medicine, and probably other factors we haven't identified yet.

I'm size 8 right now but will be 6 soon. Not sure I want to be much smaller.

I want to stay where I am, a 6. Ideally I just want to fill it out in all the right places.

My problem right now in sizes is my shoulders and I'm not sure how they're going to turn out over time with muscle loss.  So now a 14 fits.  I'd like that smaller.  With slacks I can fit a 12 comfortably and would like to get to 10.  I don't think I can ever get much lower than that because I don't have a whole lot of size to lose.  But who knows what another year of HRT will do.

I'm currently a US/CAN size 0-2 depending on the brand. At 5'10" I do not wish to drop in size, however I would not complain if I had to move up to a 4 for more hips.

In US sizes I am a dress size 2-4, I am actually trying to put on some weight at the moment, guess my ideal would be a 6 maybe.

I don't know! I'm tall and getting skinnier but don't want to completely lose my already small flat butt! I have been suppressing for so long, just bought my first little black dress so I'll see how it fits and go from there!

I'm a 12 or Large generally. Sometimes a medium, because women's sizing standards seem nonexistent. My ideal size is the one that accentuates my curves the best. My only problem with sizes, is that anything 14+ and XL start to get very loose in the waist and not give me any extra room in the chest.

My favorite part of being a woman is the challenge of remembering all my sizes. 3 different pants sizes, 5 different dress sizes, 3 different shirt sizes, 2 different bra sizes, panty size, those ever changing shoe sizes by style, and jackets. It's a great tool to keep your mind sharp!

Where I want to be and where I can really get are probably two different things.  When I started this process I was 228lbs, I am now 188lbs and still trying to loose. I have only been on hormones for 4 months, can't wait till I start to loose muscle mass. I have been getting 12 to 14 sizes or xl. I have a big chest 44 inches which makes it tuff. I would love to go thru a shrink machine, lol.

I'm happily to an 18 for most things now.  A 20 occasionally for tops, and a 16 occasionally for bottoms. Weight loss will continue to shift this, but to me, somewhere around a 14/16 would be ideal I think. I'm not sure 14 is possible based on bone structure.

I wear a 10 or 12 dress and 8 skirt.  If I were to go on hormones the reduction of my shoulder and back muscles would probably bring the dress size down to an 8. I'm 5 8 152.

The nice thing is I can share skirts with my wife.

I'm way tall 6' 3" and have the Tra**** shoulder look.  Wish I could step down to a size 12/medium but stuck at just under a 14 for dress size, large tops, size 10-12 pants and shorts.  Trying to lose weight at 47 is tough!
