I have a new roommate (not my choice just share bathrooms), and he offer me beer, cigerettes, and even food... First time actually talking to him. He told me his emotional conflicts while getting drunk and pretty much told me his life story. He was showing me all his favorite songs, or at least songs hes emotional about. Hes a cisgender straight man as far as I could tell, but he requested me to get him a drink but he was wasted at that point.

Im not used to friendships, but Id imagine this is how friends act if Im correct?

Is this normal behavior? Or suicidal/depression behavior?

Honestly, I am not sure based on the description of the conversation... you'd kind of had to have been there in order to take it all in context. I would find it odd though.
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

Some people will offload their life story to people they hardly know. It's just who they are. Unless he was using phrases like "I hate my life", "can't go on", "wish it would all go away/stop/be over" I doubt he is suicidal.

If I remember, you're in the Army. While I was in the Army I made a lot of fast friends, a lot of time drinking and CoD was the norm for down time in the Barracks. On weekends it was drinking and strip clubs. People were also more likely to open up because they would get used to making new friends every 1-2 years. I'd say he sounds like any other soldier trying to be friends with his room mate and wanting to chill. So many bromances in the Army tbh.
