Hi KayXo,
Yes Progesterone would be the idea, but my Doctor in Melbourne (sven Strecker) doesn't believe in it and will not prescribe it
Why not? Based on what studies? I have compiled a summary of progesterone, its effects, benefits vs risks, how it impacts cis and transwomen, etc with a ton of scientific references supporting its safety. If you want, I can send you the document, you take a look at it,
understand it and then present this info to your doctor. The objection to prescribing it is easily arguable because it doesn't hold scientifically speaking. You just need to know about progesterone and how it differs from other progestogens, become familiar with the science. Your doctor won't be able to argue against it. Trust me!
Just think for a moment...ciswomen produce it in significant amounts during the second phase of the menstrual cycle, in much higher concentrations during pregnancy. Need we really be concerned with a hormone that has been produced in copious amounts by the human body for millions of years? Anyways, let me know if you want the document.
It's time we educate our doctors.
