Hi, I have my first appointment on the 18th with an endocrinologist assigned by the VA. I have my therapist writing my letter and I should have that available by then. Any special considerations I should take to prepare? And what is the likelihood of getting a prescription at this appointment? I have done a couple laser treatments on my face so far and also done therapy for 6 months and have been full time for the last 3. I'm excited to start getting my body in alignment with who I really am.

With Love,
Myrrial

Most endos will perform a physical including checking out the size of your testicles. The chances of you getting HRT before they run a blood test on you are slim. Most people get started after the blood tests from the second visit.

Yes. I had my first appointment last week and I went completely as myself, I looked super cute, I had obviously researched everything possible on the effects of hrt, I have a therapist and psychiatrist and general practitioner who are all on board, and the doctor I saw was great and it was at a facility that specializes in working with transgender men and women under the informed consent model...and the doctor had me make a follow up in two weeks. Lol

It was really like he had to to cover himself maybe? It was pretty funny. He was like "come back in two weeks. We will go over the informed consent line by line and I'll most likely prescribe hormones."

I knew no matter how I presented or how prepared I was the best I could  hope for was getting them on my second visit and not my third or fourth. The two weeks are going by fast and I was able to squeeze in my first laser appointment for my face and neck. It's all happening. I just have to slow myself down and the process happen.
