hi sisters,

I am a 30yo trans woman, been on HRT for 13 months now and want to undergo FFS in the next 3 months.

So far I have had consultations with Dr Speigel and Facial Team. I am scheduled for a phone consultation with Dr Deschamps on 02/22

Dr S recommendations:

1. Forehead contouring
2. mandible contouring and chiniplasty
3. Rhinoplasty
4. Cheek augmentation
5. Otoplasty

Facial team recommendations
1. Forehead reconstruction
2. Otoplasty
3. Chinoplasty

Dr S wants to change/enhance every aspect of my face with the exception of brow lift, hairline advancement and tracheal shave.

Facial team on the other hand only recommended forehead reconstruction, chiniplasty and otoplasty and strongly recommended not to touch jaw or the nose.

I have a feeling Dr Deschamps will probably recommend the same procedures as Dr S.

I also had a CONSULATION with one of the facial reconstructive surgeon not specialized in FFS who recommended just cheek filers and Buccaneers fat removal. He advised not to get my brow bossing removed as it doesn't look masculine on my face and gives me a unique look(not sure I buy that).

Please advise if a full type 3 forehead reconstruction will make a noticeable difference in my look and if I should get my jaw and nose contoured as well.

I am posting few pics here

Thanks for your support.

From what I have heard Facial Team really only does bone work or almost only.

Is your HRT adequate enough to give you proper feminization? It would be unfortunate that because too low doses were prescribed, you didn't feminize to your full potential and as a result, are resorting to FFS which is COSTLY and risky. What are you hormone levels?
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

Facial Team's recommendations are most appropriate for you.  Really!
