Karlie Ann

So I went to the website how-old.net with this picture of me and it said I was a 31 year old male, which, while I am glad for the 15 year age reduction, made me sad.  I feel like I'll never even come close to looking like a woman.  I can't even fool a computer program.

If you are game, comb your hair so it covers your forehead and retry it. Your face isn't masculine and I suspect the hairline may be the problem. To test it yourself, cover you forehead and notice the difference it makes in your appearance.

It told me I was 31 female in this one but in other ones it said male :-(.  But I'll take the 25 year age reduction with a big smile :-).

With the picture I have as my avatar, it hit me right on the head.
29 male.

34 male for my avatar and 39 female for the other picture. I'm 23. I get 27 female from the Artificial Intelligence site for my avatar.

That's really interesting. I've never used one of those sites before, so I was just playing around with it. Pics taken of me in 2012 say 36m, last Feb 29m, last Sep 35m. It says my gf is several years older than she is and she's a total baby-face.

Last week I had been playing with my hair in the bathroom mirror and decided to take some pics because...well, just because. And I was actually slightly happy with the pics! Probably the first ever of my life I haven't -completely- hated, only mostly.

But anyways, it said female for every one of those pics, age anywhere from 24 to 31. It's got to be a combination of the hair and the fact my phone takes awful pictures (and I can't hold the camera steady), but I'll admit to being pretty happy about those results :p

I guess I can't really come in here claiming that without sharing the pic, so...here's the one it says is 31f. Sorry for quality, dirty mirror, etc. I wasn't expecting these pics to turn out worth a crap, really wish I had cleaned the mirror! Also, this is my first pic making it to Susan's...so...whee!

I tried it last year and it told me I was 19 years old! Given that I was 49 at the time I found that rather flattering...

This sounds like a lot of fun and laughs, but let's think of what happens when this software is combined with video surveillance at airports, or just along streets,m as in London.  Are we trans going to be pulled aside just because we have not had FFS?  Or will the algorithm get us for even more refined reasons, like hip to shoulder ratio.  We are innocent trans, but they might think we are male terrorists trying to disguise ourselves for some nefarious purpose.

As biometrics get stronger, we are the ones caught in the middle.

Yeah,  I got one result like that yesterday.  I threw that one away and promptly cleared it out of my mind.

I loved the site, used my future avatar said I was 35 and female, well after 2 years estrogen the last is probably correct, I'll post my avatar as soon as allowed then you all can decide.
  •

Devlyn

DeidraDee, you can always post pictures, only the avatar is subject to a restriction.

Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Devlyn, Thank you for the info, sorry not very tech. oriented and overly conscious about braking any rules plus still learning about myself but did reach my required posts today; so I was able to post my avatar photo, maybe I will find a better one in the future, this was after 2.5 years on hormones. Thanks again to you and everyone for sharing and making this journey a little easier.

As I said earlier in a passing tips thread, the square glasses make you appear more masculine. If you didn't have the square glasses, but another shape at your glasses, you may appear more feminine. Narrower eyebrows and lesser square glasses would make you look more feminine. Remember, a computer hasn't the same intelligence as a human being, so you can't really trust at it.
