BreakingTheIllusions

So, let me start. I had a SRS surgery two years ago. One thing that is troubling me though, sometimes after bowel movement i experience a minor bleeding from my vagina. There's usually some blood that comes out right after passing the stool, but it soon stops. I'm already planning to visit a doctor about it, but a thought or two from you could be useful. Could it be granulation tissue inside the vagina? Sometimes i bleed inside there when i put my finger in.

Also, another question that is probably not something you hear often. Is it possible to surgically remove the vagina? I don't wish to detransition. I want to keep my vulva and clitoris the way it is, but i don't want to have the inside. I haven't been doing dilation for 15 months because i found it stressfull and unnecessary. I don't wish to have sex anyway. Could it be possible to take the inside of the vagina out and cut if off? Since i didn't dilate, i lost few inches of depth and it's really tight, but it's still possible to get in there, i just don't want to have it. I know that it's my own fault and that i should think of it before i decided to have the surgery. I should have go with only the cosmetical surgery without creating the opening. I just wonder if it can be reversed.

Hi

Welcome to Susan's :) Great to have you here - looking forward to seeing you around the forum.

I can't answer about the reversal but as for the bleeding I'd suggest making that planned trip yo the doctor a reality ASAP.

Welcome to Susan's Place. First a little about my self. I am post surgical 33 year and asexual. I have never been in a sexual relationship before or after surgery. I thought I would never use my vagina in the last year I have come to the conclusion that even though I am still asexual, there might exist a future were I would want to be sexually active.

The reason the discover that I am in the Demisexual areas of the asexuality. My life for the last 30 years kept me from seeing this but changes in the last two years have exposed another side of me I didn't know existed.

As you already have the vagina, I would suggest you consider keeping it because you can't be sure what the future will hold for you. Missing dilation can be undone as through a long drawn out story I went for about 10 years without dilation.  It took several session in order to get things back the way they were but it can be done. I only had one sized dilator but with the multi size collections available, it should be possible to reverse the loss.

As for the bleeding, it sounds like something is wrong. After 4 or 5 months, you shouldn't see any bleeding. My guess is that you haven't had any post surgical exams and something isn't healed correctly inside. It could be anything from an infection to an adhesion and only an internal examination expose the problem.

You definitely should have the bleeding checked out by a doctor; that's not normal and probably not something that people over the internet ought to diagnose. :) Good luck!

As for your second question, vaginectomy is performed on trans men (and cis women occasionally), so it is theoretically possible in the sense that the surgery exists. Whether it can be effectively done on a trans woman, and if so whether you can find a surgeon to do it, is the real issue...

Hi.

I am demisexual myself, but i don't like having a vagina and i don't need it for sex purposes. I'm fine with having clitoris, but having anything inside of me is not comfortable and the idea of being penetrated is repulsing to me. Besides, having the vagina means that i have to take care of it and i'm just thinking that perhaps getting rid of it would save me a lot of problems. I don't think i will be ever able to dilate without getting depressed over it. It is the worst hell imaginable. Any surgery performed to regain the depth would be pintless because i wouldn't keep that depth anyway.

It's not much of a bleeding really. Just small spots on the toilet paper during the bowel movement. I think that the stool might be hitting somewhere in there while passing alongside. This problem started only four months ago though and it only happens few times a month. No, i never had a post-op exam. The surgeon who performed SRS on me is in Thailand and i don't have money to travel there one more time. I only have the local doctor and gynecologist. Never had my vagina examined though. Mostly because i am very stressed about it for some reason. It's probably irrational, but i have this picture in my head that if they're going to examine this they're going to tell me that i'm going to die because of some serious stuff going on down there. To be honest, the surgery kind of messed me up. I've become afraid of blood and everything that has to do with my body. I constantly check my saliva to see if there are any sings of blood there. I do it also with my nose and ears. It became an unhealthy obsession. And although it's never there, this irrational fear stil stays.

I lived in California and had my surgery in colorado. Add a several hour bus ride between the airport and the surgeon and I wasn't going to do a follow up examine with him as well. I had a local gynecologist who did a really good job of follow up. I didn't heal correctly and had an infection post surgical and he treated both.

Depending on where the blood is coming from, it could be minor or a major problem. If its the vagina, it most likely is minor. If it's from your intestinal track, it needs to be check out now. The third option is you have a UTI in which case a weeks worth of pills will clear it up. I had my first and only UTI last summer and it wasn't very painful so I didn't know what was going on until I passed blood.

As for surgery to restore depth, it most likely will not be needed. Regular dilation will restore the vagina. Even with my 10 year vacation, I can still use the same dilator and reach the same depth of between 5 and 5.5 inches - what my surgery originally provided.

See the doctor and get it over with. You already fear the worst so I suspect what the doctor will tell you is going to be good news and you can stop worrying about it.

You are lucky to have such a gynecologist. I'm certain that it's coming from vagina. I checked it multiple times. There's no blood in urinary tract or rectum.

I'm only have a depth of 2 inches, i guess. I can insert half of my finger, but that's where it hits the dead end. Also, i'm quite tight. I can insert two fingers if i really try, but i takes some effort. One finger goes in without any problems. However, i don't want to do the regular dilation. I've heard that some people had SRS performed without creating the vaginal opening, just the vulva appearence on the outside. I wish i knew about it before i had my surgery. It never accured to me that there was this possibility.

I suspect there may be much more depth possible but a doctor will have to determine that. If you really no longer desire the vagina, I think you can leave what you have and not worry about it. It is something you will need to talk over with your gynecologist and learn what your options are. CIS women sometimes are born without a vagina and through the use of special dilators can create one. I found it quite by accident when I was researching dilators one day. I am sure your gynecologist will be familiar with the process and can tell you what your options are

I only ask that you consider the thought of someday wanting a functional vagina and making the effort to preserve what you have. I am not asking that you return for another surgery.

I could keep it, but then i would risk all the possible infections and health problems going on in there. I'm not sure and i have to think it thoroughly. I don't see much point in having a functional vagina. I don't get any pleasure from that. The only pleasure i feel is by stimulating the clitoris, that's about it. Having things inside only feels uncomfortable. I don't want to have this opening for someone else's pleasure. Besides, i am a top.

After the surgery heals, there is little to maintain it. I dilate once a week and other than that, no care is required. The infection was the result of the surgery and once it was cleared up, it was no longer a problem. It is your decision and not mine but there isn't a need for another surgery if you no longer desire it. Just allow it to exist as a shallow vagina.

If it helps, the version of GRS that does not create a vagina actually does produce a 1-2" deep by roughly one-finger-wide "dimple" so that the appearance of the rest of the vulva is correct and all of those structures remain in their proper locations. In other words, if you *had* had that surgery done, you likely would have ended up with something nearly identical to what you have now. So all you have to do is accept that this is the way you hoped your body would be. :)
