Check out Buck Angel's site.

Some of it is porn. He is a really nice guy and nowadays an advocate for transmen's rights.

I've met him a few times and he is a great guy. (and hot!)

Buck Angel has a YouTube channel, and there's tons of other ftm channels on YouTube. I watch them sometimes.

Thanks ladies, but I was hoping to hear more about normal movies. Like Mrs. Doubfire and To Wong Fooo, only about transmen instead of men in drag.

I seriously doubt that Buck considers himself a man in drag!! He is a man with a vagina.

Boys Don't Cry is probably as close as you will get to anything non-documentary, but his trans status is never discussed during the course of the film. And it's a mega downer.

"Tomboy" and "About Ray" are movies about a trans guy.
But "Danish Girl" is about a trans woman in Denmark.

The movie "Tomboy" is about a trans guy. But I have no idea why the movie is called "Tomboy".

Tomboy was very good; it's french. I assume it was called that was because that's what his parents assumed he was. Whereas throughout the whole film it's clear he identifies as male; so my interpretation was it's showing how ridiculous it was that his parents weren't understanding. Anyway, I love this few and is one of the few films showing a happy trans person.
I hated Boys Don't Cry and I only got half way through. I understand it was a true story but the main character is completely unlikeable and doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I was pleasantly surprised that I liked the Danish Girl. Very well put together and Eddie Redmaye was perfect for the role despite being cis.
They/them pronouns preferred.

That's not what I meant. I was thinking like those movies Mrs. Doubtfire and To Wong Foo. They are about transexuals but I want to see movies with F t M transexuals  or female crossdressers. I'm not looking for porn right now, just something with a story.

Thanks for that.

Megan.

Hillary Swank played a trans guy in a film called a 'Boys Don't Cry'.

I found some on amazon. Except these are more about male homosexuality.

Prayers for Bobby

The Matthew Shepard Story

There are others that sound to bad for me to watch because I don't want to movies where main characters get murdered for being gay.

Ah, but that's the rub. Hollywood, despite having a heavy gay influence, produces "entertainment" that reinforces the message, if you're gay you'll die (violence, AIDS).

FtMs aren't as sensational as MtFs probably because the act of being male is seen as normal, whereas 5" heels, too much makeup, and big hair wigs are perceived to be entertaining. There are few mainstream movies with trans characters. Dallas Buyers Club had an MtF character who was just part of the story, and done pretty well I thought. On TV, if you haven't already seen them, you can probably find episodes of Chaz Bono's show on YouTube.

The bottom line: there isn't much, and most of what there is goes to great lengths to marginalize us. Maybe someday...

Ohhhhh Buck Angel is one of my crushes haha, if I met him I think I'd faint  ;D
Also such an incredible body, I love it, my dream is to be that muscular someday

Anyway I don't really know movies about trans men, but a friend suggested to watch Boys don't cry, but I never watched it because it sounds depressing and I'm really not into depressing movies.

Romeos is about a gay trans man and it's an amazingly great movie! A cis man is playing a trans man though, but don't let that stop you!

Sounds great. Is there anything tragic about it?
