I have been doing charity work now for the last 4 years helping transgendered youth.. Giving them an ear to be listened to. Help give advice and information so they can start things of right... I do this because the suicide rate all over the world is high. Because people feel alone..

I feel that these sites are needed in order to make people feel that they are not alone.. And I do take pride in what we do..

But today I meet a (person) and I say that loosely who messaged me and told me the most horrendous things.. I'm not going to go into details..bit it made me realise that there are some sick people out there..and now they are using charity
sites to spread there vile messages...

I guess what I'm saying is be careful who you speak to and if you Ever come across a sick person.. Report them to the authorities.. You will be doing the right thing..

Protect others and yourself... Stay safe online... Xxxx

I'm OK.. It just annoys me so much... It is there to help people. And things like I read makes it so easy to walk away from the good, genuine people.. And it is ashame but it can be so hard sometimes... And when people take advantage.. You feel like what's the point when sick individuals get through...

I promised myself along time ago to help people. And I always have.. Because I know how hard it can be..  But It is getting harder

Don't let a few bad apples spoil your day.

Concentrate instead on the many people you helped.

There have been a few thanks I presume ... just memorize them, this is what is important.

*hugs*

Was this someone working for the charity?  (E.g., a hot-line worker?)

Or was it an outside person contacting you?

Hi Lea,

I might be wrong, but reading between the lines of that it sounds like someone has contacted you via the charity site just to find a transgender person to abuse?

That's really horrible - disgusting even to think that someone could be that intent on causing someone else pain that they'd go out of their way to use your service to track you down. It's just, to me, so like a hate crime. It's similar, I suppose, to an anti-Semitic person going on a Jewish website to spout hatred or an anti-Islamic person attacking people outside a mosque.  :'(

I mean, it's ridiculous to me. You're clearly just there to do a job helping people because you feel like it's the right thing to do!! And you've always come across on here like such a nice person that I suppose it's only natural that you'd feel that you want to help other people. I volunteer for a local LGBT group as well, so I can sort of empathise. Luckily I've never had anything like that happen so I wouldn't know what to do, but I can be angry for you  >:(

To me, you're doing something good  :) So with that I wish you all the strength that you need to carry on with it honey; it's so important that people like you are putting yourselves out there and taking risks so that those who don't have your courage, as yet maybe, can feel better about themselves. That's the wonderful thing about helping people, in my opinion.

But then I don't think you should have to take those risks. The work sounds like it's between you and your service users. It's really nothing to do with, I think, those outside who just want to hurl abuse and bring you down. If, though, their lives are so empty and twisted up that they need to hate good people to feel better, then I'd say leave them to it. They've made a grubby little hell for themselves whilst up here on Earth - so they'll spend the rest of their lives getting burned up in it  :'( Honestly, I've met too many people like that in life... Most I can never forgive and still find chilling.

So I really hope that this doesn't stop you doing what you want to do, and expressing who you are Lea. As for the rest of it; it's such a shame to hear how it's upset you and it's just like, arrghh -so angry for you!!!

Take care dear,

Missy xx
