I transitioned in the late 70's. Just about everyone I knew who was trans had SERIOUS issues with sexual health, risky sex, prostitution, drugs, suicide, and murder. We were a hidden population of victimized objects. I wondered how it was that I managed to keep my act together. I still don't know how I did not fall into the abyss.
