So yeah.  I work for a pretty large company.
Recently our EO policy was changed to include wording to cover gender identity, which made me crazy happy.

However, as of yet, I don't think they have added any insurance coverage to our available policy. We use Cigna, which I've been told is one of the companies which has written policies at other places to cover transitions.  I even have a current document by Cigna covering criteria for GRS coverage.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or steps to take to try to get something like this added?

I would be interested in seeing how it goes (or went) in other companies.

My company uses Cigna. I asked if they would ever remove the transgender exclusions on our company policy. The president of our company was not even aware that there was an exclusion. Makes me wonder if this is something the brokers add by default when quoting the lowest rates.
He did say he would look into why there was an exclusion. We'll see what happens.

Interesting, I had not thought to approach it from a "remove restriction" angle... that sounds better than trying to get them to "add" something.   I think Ill send an email asking about it that way.   Ill report back when I find out more.
