This is just a quick poem I wrote the other day, taken from bits of my lyrics that I couldn't work into a song. It's written about being trans, but it can be applied to a lot of topics. Hope you enjoy  :)

Let Go of your fear.

A low hum is stirring,
A murmur on the east wind from across the water,
That carries with it energy,
Distant, and elegant.

It crescendos into a rich cacophony,
A whirling maelstrom of energy and vibrant colour,
Of life and love perfectly intertwined,
Devastatingly powerful yet achingly beautiful.

And we rejoice,
Because soon there will be no more haunted dreams,
No more nightmares cloaked in shadow,
For we are no longer asleep.
And to those who seek to put you down,
Know that their time is short.

We rouse from our deep slumber to tell them -
No, to spit back in their face and declare,
Defiant and unified as one,
That we are no longer content to sit in silence
As our brothers and sisters fall by the wayside,
That we will no longer hide away,
Obscured by the shadow of the powerful and greedy.

And I say to them;
When we arrive at our bitter end,
As we fade away, decay and rust,
History will look down on you my friend,
And then you will be nothing but dust.
