Hey guys!  I'm starting to look for a therapist and I'm at once excited and scared out of my wits. I was wondering if anyone is from oregon and has any recommendations or advice?  I'm in the corvallis area. I've found a handful of therapists listed online but I have no idea where to start so I thought I'd see if anyone on Susan's has experience in the area.

Thanks!

Hello kk,

Although its Shelly Norton is in Portland I highly recommend her as she is very experience with transgender people. There are others in the Portland area too, checked a few out and was not comfortable with them.

Besides Shelly being a pleasure to work with she has referred several of her clients to me, both pre-op seeking information from someone (one) who has gone through genital reassignment surgery. I am in Salem, if you ever want to talk I am open to that.

A comprehensive list of therapist and other transgender resources. The list was compiled by a post-op MD who I used until this month, she is retiring soon.

Also on the page above a voice therapist is listed, Barbie Scott whom I use and highly recommend her.
