I'm back, feeling a little stupid.

Yup I'm back.

A week ago I stupidly deleted my account in a fit of tears.. I suppose there isn't any way to get my old posts / sig back or anything is there?

I feel quite bad for doing so, I was having a really bad week and overreacted to some passing critique (which btw was more than fair, I've read it while being in a better mood and even acted on it a bit)

My old account has the same name, and my posts come from the same IP address.

Thanks for having me back either way, I'm so sorry for everything.

Hi Sophi  :icon_wave:

Welcome back to Susan's  :)  Glad to have you here again

You might be able to retrieve your old account, I or another Mod could ask in your behalf but it would be up to Susan or Cindy

Here's a few quick links to help you along

Please be sure to review

Things that you should read

It made me sad when I saw your account up for deletion because I saw how long you were a member. By the way, while a moderator could remove an account, that is reserved for Cindy.

In response to your question, yes it's possible to recover the old posts and combine them with your current account. I am not sure if it's something any administrator can do or if it requires data base manipulation but I know that Susan has done it for several accounts. I would suggest when you reach 15 posts, if Susan hasn't seen this thread, you PM her with the request.

In the future, if you need somebody to talk with feel free to PM me. I am not sure how much I can help but I would be happy to listen.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I also really appreciate the offer to chat Dena, I got a little ahead of myself that night and made a big mistake. Maybe talking to someone first would have avoided the issue entirely but that was kinda my fault to begin with.

I was under the impression it might be impossible to bring accounts back. I know some forum software is like that, but hearing both of your comments gives me hope o:

Again I'm sorry for what I did, this place has been quite an important part of my life for a long time now and really don't want to lose that. You guys are always so helpful and kind to each other.

Delete items are a bit different. They end up in the trash bin and anybody who can see them can move them back into the forum. They need to be retained in case they are required for review in the case of a moderator action. In addition, when I review a person's posting history, I see both the posts they made and the post that have been deleted.
