Inspire
We live in a world of self proclaimed experts,
Of people who would talk down to us at every chance they get,
Who claim the right to tell us who we are,
And who define aspects of us they don't understand with cheap labels,
Judging us and disregarding us without so much as a second thought.
And they're right; we are not normal.
But who truly wants to just be "normal"?
Don't strive to normality,
To mediocrity, to mere existence,
Don't settle if you still hide in the crowd,
Don't be content to let bigots steal your spotlight,
It's time to stop living life vicariously through others,
Because you deserve more.
And if you're not ready to wake up just yet,
That's fine,
But when you feel you are,
Know that you will be greeted with open arms;
That there is a world of people out there like us,
Just waiting to welcome you in.
For the world is a darker place without the light of souls like ours.
Your compassion makes ours a richer community,
You have stories that would inspire greatness in the weakest of us,
And give the broken-hearted a reason to fight,
To say "One more day"
