Bathroom question

When I was stuck living as a female, I had a lot of issues using the bathroom 'appropriately'. If I tried to sit and piss it would end up just flying straight out and getting all over the floor. I'd literally have to almost fold in half to try and redirect the stream. I avoided public restrooms as much as possible.
As a result, I've found it much easier to just stand and piss for the vast majority of my life. This is great... except for one problem: I have to mostly pull down my pants to make it happen, at least down to my knees as I've never quite been able to get the hang of maintaining the strength of the stream until the very end. This makes urinating at a urinal impossible.
My experiences with STP devices have been very limited (I've only tried one--the Freetom 4-1 6.5--and I hated it for everything including the STP feature) because I've always been able to STP.
Here's my question, though: Since I always have to go into a stall, do you think that's odd? I know men don't pay attention and I've never been looked at in the men's room or questioned. I just wonder if someone were to happen to glance and see pants almost to the floor if eyebrows would raise.
In other words, is it worth it for me to invest a good chunk of change on an STP device or should I just carry on as usual? I feel very torn. Pissing at a urinal would be awesome but the logistics of the process just seem perilous.

As a former user of men's restrooms I can tell you that quite a few men go into the stalls to pee. Admittedly they don't tend to close the door when they do (or put the seat down afterwards!!) but I seriously doubt anyone is going to notice or care if you do close the door.

All depends on where you are.  I'd be nervous about the pants-to-the-floor thing.  Most of the time, no problem.  Sports bars, truck stops, etc.?  You might get hassled.

I use the men's room sometimes, and depending on my pants/underwear situation, I won't want to use a urinal.  Also, I need to stand to get it all out.  So, I frequently close the door and stand to pee in a stall.  No comments.  That said... I occasionally use the men's whilst wearing skirts and dresses, and I haven't gotten comments, only mild surprise.

If you've ever watched South Park the little guy Butters drops his pants all the way down (at a urinal) and lifts his shirt when he pees.
Anyways.. STPs are really a hit or miss, I know I've spent a few hundred on these things. The only one that worked for me so far has been the EZP by Transthetics. I've used many times successfully at a urinal and had no problems (if I don't pay attention to how much is flowing I do dribble on my hand). If I do use a stall in a busy mens room I try to stay in there for a little bit. I know this is weird but I also try to be as gross as possible like hack up loogies and burp too. Just makes me feel more manly haha.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I have tried many STP devices and have only found one that works for me every time...the Pstyle.  It does have limitations in that it is somewhat difficult to carry in a concealed fashion unless you have clothing with big pockets, and it is not at all phallic in appearance, so using it at a urinal could be tricky.  I am able to stand and pee in a stall by just unzipping my fly and tucking it up under me.  Never had a leak or a side spray with it and have been using them for about 5 years.  I have used it outside while hiking and in other remote areas as well.  It may not be your urinal solution, but it sure feels better to me and probably appears somewhat more 'normal' from outside the stall door.  Mine is a clear color, so it does not really stand out, and I think you can still get two of them for twenty bucks.  They last forever and are easy to clean.  I have spent a small fortune on more 'realistic' looking STPs, and have had no luck finding one that works as well as the Pstyle does for me.

I may have to just invest in a Pstyle, then. I've seen them and heard a lot of guys talk about how they're a foolproof option.
I don't know if it's just because the first thing I tried really, really sucked but I'm actually not even a huge fan of packing. The Freetom one I got just constantly felt like a huge, heavy boner and it was extremely difficult to piss out of with the way the cup in the balls was contoured. It seemed like no matter how much shaking and manipulating I did, there was always a small puddle of piss left in the balls. Packing with it was next to impossible--standing was okay but as soon as I'd sit down you could clearly see every detail in the thing--and I felt like I was one of those dudes that's always repositioning their junk.

I'm sure the time will come when I'll venture out into the land of packing again but I felt so burned by my first major purchase that I'm still a little miffed.

Hahahah, yes, I used to watch South Park quite a bit. I can honestly say that I've never aspired to be like Butters, but I guess the shoe partially fits in this circumstance.

I might attempt to get on the back order list at some point for the EZP. I'm sure I'll cave in the coming years when I end up searching for additional 'normalization', so to speak.
I do love the bathrooms that are just single person, though, because peeing in a urinal for me as-is is a more comfortable process. It's a shame not everyone wants to see my pale white buns in community situations.

I think it all depends on where you are. When I lived in Japan it was really common for guys to use the stalls. No one thought anything of me waiting to use one to go pee. I avoid public bathrooms in the states, especially since I have a live in job and never have time worry about it. But my partner uses stalls and sits to pee. He's never had a problem with it.

I've given up of standing to pee for the most part. The risk of pissing on myself is too high and outweighs the potential positives. I sit in stalls. The only annoying part is waiting for stalls in busy bathrooms, or going to pee with friends. I was on a road trip with team mates and I went and sat in the stall while he used the urinal. I got out and he questioned it "wow fastest poop ever?" I replied "Thought I might have to poop but just gas." No one assumes wow he was sitting and peeing, must mean he doesn't have a penis.

Just a comment. In all the years when I was trying to live as I guy I always had to use the stalls. I just couldn't stand and pee, and urinals grossed me out.

No one ever made a comment.

I think you would find a lot of cisguys who do not like using troughs, urinals etc.

It's kind of awesome to hear there's other guys like me standing to pee also, naturally. I experience the same problem myself, man - I feel more comfortable standing to pee. Unfortunately I have to pull my pants to about my knees too.

A few years ago I bought an Stp device (Mr Fenis, about $12-16). Very fold-able which is convenient. I don't carry it anymore unless I hike or fish. I kept it in a plastic bag inside a small drawstring bag. I'd pack it inside my briefs which gave me a nice little bulge. I didn't put it in my pockets, in case I was ever searched in suspicion of shop lifting (Jesus, imagine trying to play that off). Occasionally I'd get some urine on myself, but otherwise it was great to not have to feel vulnerable standing with my pants down. I might have tried it at a urinal once or twice but I recall feeling nervous about it, with the chance someone might take notice and single me out.

Just the other day one of my bosses was complaining about peeing at urinals next to drunk guys who can't aim. He prefers stalls for the extra shield. Admittedly he was talking mostly about at bars.

I use the gogurl stp ... not very manly but gets the job done. I've always wanted to try a urinal but ill only try it in private bathroom so I can get it right. Lol once I had to pre and was at the mall. I was in the menu Macy's and went into the guys bathroom. I didn't bring my stp that day and really had to go. So I went into a stall. All of the sudden the bathroom got filled up with guys and I go nervous about peeing. Then there was two guys that came in and each one took a stall next to me. They both pulled their pants down to the floor and sat down to poop and fart. I was trying so hard not to laugh. I ended up leaving and using the empty family bathroom next door. I do pass very well and don't have issues with walking in to the boys room but I still get very nervous still.
