I came out as FTM to my mum and one of my best friends a couple of weeks ago and they both took it well- I am super shy though so I haven't asked for a binder or anything yet xD Mum mentioned something about forums I could join so I looked some up and ended up stumbling in here, so hi everyone c: I've not really settled on a name yet, but so far I like Edgar, so maybe just call me Ed, Eddie, Edgar, G, Ghoul, something like that! I'm a 14 (turning 15 towards the end of the month) year old trans guy living in Scotland, three hours and lots of money away from the nearest gender clinic, damn boat fares... Hmm, what else to say? I like rock and metal music, though there are some exceptions that I like, for example I actually quite like Pearl Jam's probably-a-joke song Bugs (: Is it a song, though...? It's not just an instrumental, but it's not really singing in it haha

I draw a lot too and I have a deviantart (I dunno if I'm allowed to post it here...?). I also play guitar and bass quite a lot since I actually have three guitars and a bass; I'd play drums if I had a kit but I have no room for one, sadly q: My favourite bands to listen to at the moment are Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, System Of A Down, Rammstein and maybe Metallica, and I also listen to a bit of Alice In Chains (Rooster and Would? are absolute masterpieces, I definitely recommend them if you don't know them!), Steel Panther, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Sabaton, Tenacious D and Tool, and I think I might try and get into Nightwish, Powerwolf, Green River and Pantera, and I really need to listen to the Temple Of The Dog album, Hunger Strike is amazing and Chris Cornell is the devil a genius.

In case you're wondering, I guess my username is a fusion of two things I like a lot, it references a song by Pearl Jam (Glorified G) and Fallout (euughh... ghoulification) (:

Now I just have to figure out how to edit my profile... This whole layout is new to me! xD

*crickets chirp as the fresh noob's finger hovers over the post button*

*shia labeouf can be heard faintly screaming "do it" in the background*

Edgar,

I wanted to add that there is an area here called "Youth Talk". You may have found it already. It is an area for younger members to discuss things in a peer to peer way.

Welcome to Susan's.

With warmth,

Here is a brochure by the NHS which might help with self acceptance and explaining :

You might think about bridging treatment meanwhile.

https://gendergp.co.uk/

They also have materials to help with the NHS...

and you might contact this group, they are specifically there for the support of transgender youth in the UK :

You might play around a bit with hair and clothing style, and see how it makes you feel.
Second hand stores can be a good source for clothes.

Aaaahh thanks everyone <3
I thought about joining that Mermaids thing but if I'd have to talk to someone on the phone to get into the forums, I despise talking to anyone, even people I know, on the phone and I find it hard to talk to people I don't know in general :s It's a shame, I want to join, but that's kind of discouraging for me- I understand why they need to do it, though.

I will definitely check all of those links people posted, I was going to when I read the replies to this a couple of days ago (and I never replied myself until now, oops!) but it was going on two in the morning and I was shattered so that probably wasn't the best time, I figured xD
