Approximately 2 weeks ago, I noticed that a small, painful lump had formed underneath my left armpit. Within approximately 1 week, the lump had entirely disappeared. Last Thursday--5 days ago, approximately a week after the first lump had disappeared--two to three small, painful lumps began to form, but under BOTH armpits this time.

I have already ruled deodorant, as well as ingrown hairs as the result of shaving or Nair, etc.

Could this be the result of my MTF HRT? A condition called hidradenitis suppurativa continually pops up in my search for answers, but I don't know.

Anyway, I'm seeing my doctor later today, I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or anything similar, or has any idea what's possibly going on with me.

It was a while ago, but I remember feeling an unexpected swelling at some point - I'd not realized just how far breasts extend back from the front your of chest. The development is quite extensive. Perhaps that's it?

Any lump under your armpit should definitely be looked at by a doctor.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I don't think it is breast growth as this feels quite different, and the lumps are mainly forming toward the back and top of my armpits. That being said, I haven't ruled out that possibility yet either. I really hope that's what it is!

Typically it is your lymph nodes swelling when you experience what you are going through. Hope all goes well with your doctor's visit. Hugs

It could also be something as simple as plugged sweat glands, do you happen to use a solid deodorant? I've seen then as small as a dime and as large as a half dollar, and are usually painful and do go away with minimal intervention.

My primary physician was able to rule out cancer or anything to do with my lymph nodes almost immediately. She thinks it is small pockets of infection, but would still like me to speak with the trans specialist about it in case it is related to the hormones, or in case it is something else related to that.

And I stopped using deodorant after the first one appearead, so when the second round appeared I figured that had been ruled out as a possible cause. I'm going to continue not to use deodorant though, just in case.
