Ok, it's time I introduced myself...again. Well, I originally joined these forums as a very active member a little over 10 years ago when I began my transition, but I know there are many new members now. My original profile was deleted and I've only made a couple posts, but I hadn't done an introduction because I wanted to do it some justice.
It began with research in late 2005 and when I joined a support group. I started Hormones in February 2006 and went fulltime in July 2006. I was intending to have SRS soon after, but I started having problems with epilepsy. Due to all the medications they kept trying on me, I was unable to do my job at work and while getting everything straightened out with my health, I was out of a job for a couple years. After that I had kind of fallen out of touch with the trans community and have been just living my life as a woman with the hope to someday have SRS. I have been with my partner for over 5 years now and her and I are engaged to be married. Since we've been together, I have had a few different jobs and moved back and forth across the country for jobs. Some people know I'm trans, though many don't. I'm not even out at work.
Recently with all the anti-trans laws happening in the news, it kind of angered me and really motivated me to get back into the community. It also made me realize I really need to continue with my transition. I'm currently in the best financial position of my life and it's really time to wrap this up. So I've taken some more steps in my transition since. I recently had an orchiectomy a few weeks ago (I made another post about this). I've also taken most of the steps to get my name and gender changed on my Birth Certificate (luckily I'm from California, so surgery was unnecessary). I'm also working on scheduling SRS (though I think the current term is GRS or GCS) with Dr. Suporn and I've saved up some money that I can use as a deposit. I'm planning on just paying all the money out of pocket so I won't need to worry about a loan.
