"Deafening silence surrounded the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office when the Taiwanese national involved in the murder of his transgender partner faced the family of the victim.

Taiwanese Che-yu Tsai attempted to apologize to the family of transgender woman Ashley Ann Reilly but was only rejected by the victim's mother Clementia.

"I'm just sorry. I very loved your daughter," Tsai said in a report by Rida Reyes on "24 Oras" on Monday."
