Don't they do any boarding on Lake Michigan?  There was always the chance to catch a vessel from Wisconsin!

Gotta catch those cheese smugglers.

Though sadly they shut down the illicit poutine traffickers coming from the great white north...

This is my 1st attempt at this and I'm still a little nervous about it!

8 months HRT, but started at 68 yrs old so I guess that I can't be too disappointed.

Pre-HRT

8 Months HRT (and limited make-up skills!)

Katie - I am 58 so I am another member of the late transitioner club.  I think you look great.  Really.  I don't believe it when others say it about me and you probably don't either but you really do.  Your two pictures look like two different people.  Neither of us can expect to look like 25 yr old women.  We are 'mature' women LOL.  But that doesn't mean we have to look like blue haired 90 yr old grannies.

You are doing great.  Get over the nerves and let us see a smile - you will be even prettier !!

@LadySkylarThomasMTF

Awww Skylar!!

I am very touched by your sweet words and, absolutely honored if I, in any way, helped to inspire you to move you closer to the life you want and the new heights you are finding yourself attaining!!!... So many more good things await you sister!!!... Please feel free to PM me if I can ever be of help along the way!!!

Onward we go brave sister!!!

Ashley 🙋‍♀️💕🌻

Skylar As another member of the Ashley fan club I felt the need to jump in.  Ashley definitely gets a lot of attention because of her looks.  Some of which are surgical but a lot of it is hard work putting in tons of miles running and living right.

But the reason I am in the Ashley fan club is because of who she is.  It would be easy to be very self involved because of her physical transformation and what has become a wonderful life but Ashley keeps giving back to those of us following in her footsteps.  And as someone that knows first hand she is also a very good friend to have as well.

Just wanted to point out that her beauty is far more than skin deep.  Love ya Sis.

Kim - Thanks. You're right though. I don't really believe it when someone says I look good. Right or wrong, sometimes it seems like compliments are handed out to be kind and encourage us. I'm sure everyone means well, but sometimes it's hard to really believe. I have a lot of photos that I wouldn't want anyone to ever see!

Yes, I agree with you. Ashley @tgirlamg is always commenting on here and making all of us girls feel validated. But the stories of her own transition chronicles have inspired me quite deeply for sure. Whether or not she has had surgery has no bearing on why I am a fan of hers. It's her loving and accepting personality that makes me a fan of hers...

My Dear Sisters!!!

All I can say is WOW!!!!... What a wonderful way to start the day!!! 😀

Waking up to such sweet words was a real treat! Thank you all for taking the time to write them 💕🙏🌺

Your words were especially welcome after the last day or two... I've been engaged in a little skirmish with an old adversary... self criticism... we still do battle still, now and again...

I think many of the battles and challenges we face must be revisited...refought... reprocessed... new perspectives reached and new lessons absorbed about the meaning of all this stuff... There is so much for us in this of great value but, some messy battles are often fought to get there... there is value in the struggles ... they make the joy of liberation and happiness all the more sweet!!! 🤗

I had posted some pics in the fabulous thread the other day and then taken them down when the self criticism whispered in my ear... I feel well past that now after a battle well fought... I will post some pics and a few more words on this subject in a few hours after I get home from an appointment!!!

EDIT... I did so here...

Many Thanks to you all again for your kind and well timed words... They mean more than you know!!!!

Onward we go brave sisters!!!

Hugs and Love,

Ashley 🙋‍♀️💕🌻

Hi Katie Ellen!!!

There are many battles along this journey and self image is a huge one for all of us...  if you read my post above, you will see it is a battle that still flares up on occasion for me as well...

I started the transition ball rolling at 52 and will be 58 in a few months...  It is easy for us to focus on negativity if we allow ourselves to do so but, I would encourage you to always be gentle with yourself and move towards perspectives that best serve your goals... This process of finally making our lives into what we need... after a lifetime of them being less than that, is a glorious thing... not to be missed...

If I can ever help you navigate the challenges and share the victories ( you will have many!!! ) Please don't hesitate to let me know!!!

As Ashley mentioned and I will paraphrase - this is not a linear process.  Definitely 2 or 3 steps forward and one step back.  I still struggle with some of the things that I advocate to overcome.  Is that hypocritical?  I don't think so.  Rather it shows that this is an up and down journey just like everything else in life.

Keep trying to move forward - live your real life - love yourself and others.  And I will keep striving to do the same.
