US calls on UN members to protect LGBT people from attack

"UNITED NATIONS — The U.S. on Monday called on all 193 members of the United Nations to not only condemn the terrorism that resulted in the mass killing of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Florida over the weekend, but also to protect gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people from such attacks."

Sounds great, but where are my right? hmmm. Where are all of the informed consent clinics? Where is the help? Where is the support. This sounds like lip service to me.

The attack on the gay nightclub appears to but one of many forms of hatred being spewed out  in America as it spirals downhill. Different movements have arisen causing harm and death everywhere it seems. Cities burnt down and people in hospitals. Even police officers who defend people are being targeted by some for murder. It's just getting insane.

I don't know much about the UN helping. America has gotten so corrupt in some areas we don't know who to trust anymore. It's as though all are on an equal playing field so to speak as police, whites, conservatives, Christians, Muslims and the GLBT community are all targeted in one way or another. Even out in the county we have had problems with break in's and theft among other things.

Across America (if the news is right and not altered) police and sheriffs are urging people to protect one another. Some have said the police just can't do it anymore. As I stated elsewhere I have had two attempts to break into my home. The vacant house down the street has had illegal immigrants squatting in it that same time. While I would not like to profile anyone it just seemed odd when they were run off the attempted break in's ceased.

Many of us have decided to watch out for our communities and others. We don't care if a person is straight or gay, transgender or cisgender. This hatred effects many of us and no person or group of persons should be singled out for any reason when they are just going about their life bothering nobody. While I can't say one way or the other about the UN, there are groups of people who esteem the lives of all precious and are willing to help protect them. It may not be openly stated or get any attention in the media but they are out there. Many are veterans who are qualified to help. That willingness to help stemming from a deep down love of their fellow man.

I personally hate to see anyone hurt or killed for any reason if they are causing others no harm. This latest development in fading regard for human life is saddening and evil. Regardless of who it is targeted against. I know many probably disagree with my views on firearms but even so many of us are willing to try to help with what limited ability we have.

There are many biased people out there and some are downright hateful. Both in and out of churches. I guess some would even video a beating or murder being just as bad as the one who does such. Others would ignore it or make some pretty crude and hateful remarks like one minister did. All of these things are uncalled for and have no place in society.

But, whether people agree or not, there are some who do care enough to protect the ones being targeted. Some of them are targeted themselves. I sincerely hope nobody on this site gets hurt or killed by any of the various factions of hatred arising. And while this is not a place for religious talk I can at least say this, not all Christians hate the GLBT community. Some are targeted just like the ones they have decided to try to protect should time and place ever deem that necessary. And they would protect the people of the GLBT community from any so called Christian who tried to harm them just as they would if anyone else tried to do so.

May everyone have a safe and blessed evening.
