Early in my transition I travelled to Berlin for a mid week break
I took all my girly clothes with me - I know I didn't pass very well

However, I plucked up the courage to venture outside - I got to the entrance / reception area - lost my confidence - went back to my room via the stairs and....

They had those electronic door card keys that always stop working at the most inconvenient moments...

Mine didn't work as I tried it in the door - "I don't believe it"!

So I had to go back to reception and get the key reset while clearly not passing
Talk about embarrassing 😀

The girl receptionist didn't react badly at all, but calmly carried on as normal - she reset my key:)

However, when I checked out, all she could do was smile in recognition of my other girly self ;)

Anyone have any embarrassing/ funny stories while transitioning?

Laura Smith,

Welcome to the site.

I am too early in my journey to have many funny stories.

However I will share one from last Friday. It is one I have kind of heard of happening to others. I am not out publicly. I present male (although almost all my clothing and shoes are women's). I was at a car dealership (one of those mall type places) charging up my Nissan Leaf and using their internet to do work. Before leaving, about 5:10 pm I went to the wash room. I was sitting in the stall when I hear what sounded like a woman's voice come in. Then I saw very small women's sneakers in the stall next door. I started to wonder why she came into the men's room. It did not concern me till I started to think back and did not remember seeing urinals when I walked in but I ignore them at this point. She finished and left. I looked and saw a pad container in my stall. Finished up and left quickly myself. There was no one around but I had definitely used the women's room without even thinking....

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

Kelly Girl

The Wife and I are at Red Lobster , its our Anniversary . This is back when I didn't pass for CIS very well , but both of us were dressed to the hilt , girly girl that night .
Waitress definitely can see I'm a Transgirl . She played nice the whole evening at dinner for us . Wife is stitting next to me , we're holding hands at the table , waiting for the check . Waitress comes up , starts to hand me the Check , stops , looks flustered , blushes , starts handing it to my Wife Sarah ,
Stops , looks confused , blushes , does a 360* Pirouette' at the Table , sets the check down on the edge of the table and tells us , Enjoy your anniversary .
It was awesome , we both lost it ! :-)
