"It took an 8-year-old transgender girl to play David to the hate-spewing Westboro Baptist Church's Goliath.

Pint-sized Avery Johnson teamed up with Planting Peace, a LGBTQ equality charity, to create a center for trans people — fittingly located across the street from the Westboro Baptist Church headquarters in Topeka, Kansas.

The budding activist got the idea after she visited the Equality House, an LGBTQ center owned by Planting Peace.

The house holds workshops and programs for the local gay community and is painted the colors of the rainbow — a tribute to the LGBTQ flag. For one week a year, the organization replaces those colors with a pink and blue coat for the transgender flag.

Avery wanted a house dedicated entirely for transgender people that would be painted pink and blue all year round.

Thanks to Martin Dunn, a New York City developer, she'll have her dream realized. Dunn opted to fund the $70,000 project after reading about Avery's mission in a Daily News article in April."
