Been trying to find myself since 4/5/16. Was lost before then. Still long road ahead.

Christine, I have to agree. I think you should be posting in the looking fabulous thread.

Well, posted a pic in 5.0 but now that's closed and I forgot to actually ask if I could pass. I'm at about 6months hrt and just wondered what others opinions were.

I'm not Sebby but I'm honest, so I hope I'll do until he pitches up.

Yes you do I think. Not as a glamorous woman or even a pretty one (although the potential is there for that) but as one for sure. You look like a middle aged woman who has sat down, a bit tired after some errands, at a pavement table for a drink and something to eat.

I like your eyebrows. Bigger hair might help you out (or it might not, if its incongruous with your lifestyle). I like your make up - there's no point going for a wash out couple of shades lighter if you can go a couple of shades darker. I can see from your arms that you have a gentle tan anyway, which is nice. There's a bit of shadow under it on the lower face, so once that's gone, I'm sure it'll be much better.

Because you have a larger face, it's harder to tell - it could be easier or harder for you depending on what else you do. If it was all much thinner and tighter, the chin would be more problematic than it is. Your lips are very thin, but depending on your look and lifestyle, it might look ridiculous to have them filled out. You have a very kind expression.

It all depends on what sort of look you're aiming for, where you live, and what your lifestyle is.

Thank you very much. That was a much needed assessment. I figured that until I can afford electrolysis, I'm going to have some trouble. And I'm not sure if I'd do anything about the thin lips yet. Maybe down the road someday, but we'll see.
And you pegged it on the location. My partner and I were doing some window shopping downtown and stopped for a couple drinks in the shade. I think there was a red light above that might have tinted me a little, but I do have a little bit of red in my face. Just started wearing the sleeveless tops and in trying to get rid of the farmer tan.
Thanks again Alex I really do appreciate the honesty.

Shopping at my local supermarket today, a worker next to me stocking shelves, said to me, "Are you finding everything ok, Ma'am?" It was my first time someone doing that. I felt like I was on cloud 9. I don't consider myself passable except maybe at night from at least10 feet or more away, so it was a surprise for me.

Yeah Electrolysis is pretty expensive. I have a really high pain tolerance and I deal well under heavy loads of pressure. I had a consultation a awhile back ago for that since I don't have much facial hair they said something like 15 hours. -.- I can sympathize with those who have alot. :(

No problem, don't get rid of the tan - it suits you. You have a very kind face and beautiful honest eyes. If the tan is just lifestyle related then it'll fit way better than a blow dry and inflated lips will ever do.

I think the sleeveless too is great. It looks relaxed. Fat lips might look great on a 20 year old on the red carpet, but on anybody else, think carefully and maybe spend your cash elsewhere. If it goes well then great. If it goes wrong, it looks really wrong. You can probably survive a bad nose job - at worst, say you were in an accident. Bad lips however, there's no excuse, the entire face will be off kilter with no get out of jail free card. And many women do have naturally thinner lips - particularly as they clock up the decades.

I hate electrolysis - the boredom makes me weep. But don't be frightened about the sensation - it's honestly nothing. And presumably small fry compared to the grand finale. If you have a partner, it might work out cheaper to get him or her trained up and just do it at home.

I asked my electrolygist for a three hour appointment and she said she couldn't because of her back. Fair enough, but a bit disappointing, because it's really not all that sore. It's no massage, but it's not the hell that many say it is.

I don't know if you're the same, but I have a very bad habit of tallying things up in my head and thinking 'God, that is a ridiculous sum of money'. But electrolysis - it helps if you smoke admittedly - and you tally it down instead of up, and think, well twice a week, that is actually cheaper than a 20 pack a day.

Oh my god, you lucky cow. Do it - don't eat for a fortnight and drop a dress size at the same time.

What I wouldn't give for a 15 hours timeline. Times that by ten and then complain to me! 15 hours - I could honestly do that in a weekend. Not a fun weekend, but a weekend nonetheless.

Oh how I wish electrolysis was covered by insurance. I don't care about the other cosmetic procedures, but that one is important to me.
Unfortunately, I'm currently providing for my partner until if and when they get their disability. I've taken to buying those cigars that are sized like cigarettes because there's no tax   Something like 1.75 a pack.
That day of the picture was a special treat. I work at that restaurant so it's 50% off. Not a lot of hours yet, but getting my life on track. I've only been in this city for two months, but I'm loving the people here.
Sooooo... As soon as I can get life stable I'm going to start pecking away at the hair. Until then , I have a home ipl unit that helps a little. It did clear up my cheeks a bit, but it does nothing for the grey or the thick hair on my neck.
I feel that I've made progress though, and everyone's comments seem to support that, so I'll keep at it and hopefully just blend in one day.
At least I work with younger people and they easily call me she.
Thanks again
Hugs

That's the one isn't it. Oh you are a smoker - so everything works out in terms of 'that's however many packets' - that's good lol. Everything is cheap compared to smoking.

I took out a loan for facial surgery that two surgeons have told me I don't even need. But I don't want their 'oh you don't really need that' - I know that for what I want, for my standards, I do. And I'm not prepared to wait around to 'see' what HRT does. It doesn't fix broken noses, it doesn't remove an Adam's apple.

Now I'm terrified. I ended up in a traffic jam next to a hearse this afternoon, and I was just struck with fear - what if it goes wrong! What if that hideous thing is picking me up from the airport before the month is out! I have the most pathological fear of GA - and I've had one before! So logically, I know I don't react badly to it. It makes no difference.

I go on Facebook, and see that an old friend has just given birth. I thought yeah genuinely happy for you, great, congratulations - at least you don't have to give birth to yourself! And the whole thing cost less than the price of minus one condom!

If it makes you feel any worse don't my life wasn't so grand. Even though until 19 I was 5' 6" for the most part of my life, but eventually I hit a last-hitting growth spurt at the final trek. And my voice didn't start the deepening process until I was around 16-17. I didn't start growing facial hair until I was 20. So I'd have to say my intersex condition wasn't a blessing, but a curse. It really made my dysphoria off the charts! And suicidal thoughts were all being thought of at many times. Sure I guess I could be lucky at times, but it's just how you preceive yourself. I wouldn't compare yourself to another girl because it will lighten up your dysphoria when you just work on yourself. that's why we have threads like this, it helps us figure out what might work for us that work for others. I believe it also helps close that gap a little in my opinion here; although not a very educated answer. v.v
I had a lot of demons and problems into me to solve, which I'm still working on more puzzle problems to complete before I go unto the next.

Hi Confetti,  I'm no expert on this but you already have a nice androgynous/feminine look to you.  With hormones and electrolysis, I think you'll be very feminine looking.

For me you doesn't pass yet. Your nose and your head shape is the main things that makes passing harder for you. Your square/angular facial shape and the big nose is something I associate with masculinity too. Your body shape isn't very feminine either. But it's not super masculine either, but it's slightly. My best advice is giving HRT more time, being patient and just wait.

Patience [emoji20] I know. Just hate waiting.
I'll give it another 6 months and post a follow up and see what you think then. Hopefully things will be better or at least we'll see what is going to need intervention on.
Thanks again. I love that you don't sugar coat things, so overall I don't feel too bad.
