I Am Jess

Yeah I pass pretty well these days, which is good because I've been living full time since June of last year.   It's more than looks though. It's so much more. Keep rocking it ladies. So many of you are there, just have the confidence in yourself and the sky's the limit. It does take some time for everything to change but when it does, life is good.

Rock it ladies!!

This thread has always bothered me.  I'm worried that somebody might not be able to handle what people say about their physical appearance and that could send them into a depression or worse.  What if somebody is told that they can't pass and decides to end it all!??

also,  why are we judging people's potential to pass based on only physical appearance?

\|/ ○●○ \|/

There are other things which affects the passing like makeup, clothing, hair, voice and mannerism. But the appearance is the part which influence most. When you sees people at the street, it's very rare you actually hear their voices. If people doesn't want to hear the brutal truth about their passing abilities, they shouldn't post pictures in this thread.

Constructive criticism, with positive recommendations are the most helpful. Some of us have a difficult time getting past our perceptions of our own reflections... objective opinions are often quite helpful for our own edification. The randomness and semi-anonymity that the thread provides gives us a platform for advice and opinions that we cannot guarantee are unbiased when it comes from our friends and family. Hopefully it clears it up for you.

OK, so here is my first ever contribution to this thread. I don't think I'm far enough to pass yet but I'd like to hear your honest opinion...

Wow Jessica, you look fantastic. Have you thought about growing your bangs out?  I think that would look nice.

You are looking very good Jessica.  I had short bangs for the first few months of my transition.  I finally got them long enough to push over. I hate how long it takes my hair to grow.  I think you have reached the passing zone.

Hi,

I'm Caitlyn . I recently turned 34, was born with diabetes, and a transwoman. It took me until 33 to feel comfortable going out in public dressed up and to enjoy how my body looks:

Thumbs up on your style girl! Reaaally classy! You look great no doubt.

Edit: OMG I just noticed this is the "Do I Pass" thread and not the "You look fabulous" one lol. I swear I thought I was in the "You look fabulous" post lol. So yes, no doubt you pass girl. In fact your pics should be on the other thread  :D

Some people thinks it's very brutal to hear another person's opinion about their passing. It's difficult for many to hear they doesn't pass. Therefor I called it "brutal truth". Even though it's just a opinion, it's still a brutal truth, because it's a fact if you doesn't pass for everybody. But you might pass for some people.

I still think that one can help themselves in passing by learning about clothing and makeup... women wear what's flattering to their figure, and hairstyles that fit their face/body.  They also accent their best facial features with proper makeup application. I don't pass when I wake up, as most women don't.

Ok, ladies!  Take a good close look at those images and study them, particularly the first two.  Harlie has concealer, eyeliner, and contouring down to a science. The change in appearance with careful makeup is just amazing.

Please don't download my photos... that's why I pull them off the net. I don't really want to have them circulated. :/

Very flattering hair style... and your face has slimmed quite a bit! You're well on your way!

You did a good choice when it comes to hairstyle. It frames your face in a feminine and a good way which looks nice. You do pass at most of the pictures, but you do pass best at the second and third picture. In addition you pass better at these pictures than the last one, where your brow bridge looks more visible, due the shadow that hits your face. So getting natural light in your face is a big advantage in order to both pass and look even more feminine, since the feminine features in your face gets more visible/highlighted.

So long story short: You pass at all girl-mode pictures, but you pass better at the two first girl-mode pictures. But you doesn't pass as a woman in the picture with short hair.
