Here is me with just some makeup on. Will i be passable once i transition and start HRT? Or would i need to seriously consider FFS and HRT wont be enough? I love wearing makeup so its not like i'm only doing it for the picture, even after i transition i'll use makeup. I have fair and youthful skin so i dont have to use a whole lot though. It's excessive anyways. I have more pictures too.

I'm my girly self awaiting the day i look like the girl i am through transitioning physically male-to-female in order to becoming more of what is kept inside me so that i feel complete and experience life truly as who i am so that i don't have any regrets.

What do you all think of my picture? :)

You are doing quite well for someone who hasn't even started HRT yet.

It is difficult to tell from a single photo just what is going on with the structure of a face.  I can try to guess from your image, but that is all that it would be, a guess.  Structure generally takes profile and 3/4 shots, sharp with good lighting, to see just what is going on.

Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Hi hiddengirlsheila ,

The photo is a bit blurry and a bit small to be able to really give accurate feedback on, I do understand that you might be shy to show the 'work in progress' that we all are ( I am! ) but we'll need a bit larger image to see if you might need FFS - from a slight angle (not face on to camera, but turn your face away slightly) is also helpful as it will show your bone structure better.

If you're a bit shy - simply ignore this post, no worries.

Take care,

Sonia.

The photo is a bit blurry and ...

Portrait photographers call this "soft focus". For older girls, this technique can hide fine lines and wrinkles. It sort of works like a concealer so that a CD will look more feminine.

With no HRT yet, I think you have a wonderful starting point. Keep in mind that HRT takes a year or two before you see changes in your face.

You have a good baseline based on the picture submitted but you never know what to expect from HRT. I don't really like the word "passable". Plus being passable or not should not affect your decision whether to transition or not. You need to be comfortable in your skin and don't worry about what other people might think. Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best, that's what I did and I'm super happy today.

Went out as female yesterday for the first time in a long time. It took a lot of time to get ready and come up with a look that worked but I felt pretty good about it. didn't get any validations as far as if I passed or not and wondered what all you lovely ladies think.

Definitely ....you look lovely 😘

This was me 2 years ago at my 6 month mark. I had posted this photo on this thread.

This is me now. A lot has changed these past 2 years. 8)

Definitely passable now Amy.  The old outfit is jarring.  You have a prominent Adam's apple out in the open wearing pink!  This is not how to dress!  These two elements conflict. And draw unwanted attention.

The new outfit is a good lesson in passing.  It is hard to see if you have an Adam's apple because of your long hair, that hides the profile view.  You are wearing a white, a neutral color that could be worn be either sex.  And the big smile on your face shows that you are happy!

I wasn't trying to pass back then, nor now for that reason. I do appreciate you saying that I pass though. ;D I more proportionally care about how someone feels about my appeal in general. Not pass-ability, but do they like the way I look? 💗 I have absolutely nothing to hide, and love being known as a trans woman.

Maid Marion

Perhaps that is one of the "secrets" to passing.  You dress to make yourself look good.  Not necessarily to hide or stand out among the crowd.  That is what GG do, they dress to look good.

While out and about with @Laurie and @Michelle_P  yesterday, Michelle took these for me.

It's only been a year, so I'm hopeful.

Dear Jess:
Your recent photos definitely get a "wow-whee" and a "wowzers" from me.
For just a little over a year of HRT I think that your progress in your transition journey is going very well.... as you go out and about you are becoming more and more subject to male-fail... which in the case of being a transitioning MTF... that is very affirming and confidence building.

Thank you for your update and for posting your very nice pictures... every time you update us your pictures keep getting better and better.

Hugs and hugs,
Danielle

I've gotten some female clothes now, so I wanted to get some opinions on them and my body shape. Obviously, you can't tell if I pass or not with just some still images with my head cut out, but maybe someone call tell me if I'm committing some fashion crimes or something. Sorry they're such poor quality! Taking them with my computer's webcam was the best I could do. (And that's my piano with a sheet over it in the back, if you're wondering what the heck that is.)

This is probably my best outfit, so I took a lot of pictures. I think it does a decent job of keeping my top half from looking too wide. I think the gloves also make my hands look smaller.

This one is... not so good, it looks like a bad, colorblind Daria costume. However, it gives a decent look at my body shape. Just ignore my hairy arms.

I can't decide if this looks decent, or like a bad Jedi costume.
