Hi girls,

Many of you know I had my VFS with Yeson on 7th Jan 2016. As I couldn't travel all the way to South Korea for a post-op check up, I decided to see a specialist surgeon who is nearer in Europe who can have a close look at the state of my vocal cords. The best one I could find was Prof Remacle, and I managed to get his details thanks to Miranda, who was very helpful, indeed.

I managed to get an appointment with Prof Remacle on 29th june. He carried out a fibroscopy and stroboscopy exams and took pictures of my vocal colds (see picture attached). The total cost of the consultation was 205 euros ( I'm assuming it would have been cheaper had I had my surgery with him?).

He basically said the web has formed very well, and that I now have female-size vocal cords (hurray::)))). He also stated that I have a female voice, although it is still a bit raspy due to a slight inflammation at the bottom of the cords where the web has formed. I suppose you could call that granulation tissue?

I was, nevertheless, reassured that this should heal within the next six months when I should be able to gradually regain a clearer voice. He recommended speech therapy sessions to adapt using my new vocal cords  and use them properly.

I have indeed now had speech two therapy sessions; however,  the road to full healing/ recovery still seems a bit far away, alas. Who said vfs is a quick fix lol?

hugs to you all, my friends!

You are very welcome sweetie! :)

OMG! I was on that same day for my 3rd consultation with Professor Remacle and might be the last one and we could have bumped into each other :o

My consultation was @14:00 and I arrived around 13:30 to finally see him after an hour. Yes! To my surprise, I paid €203,90 (56,90 +147,00) instead of €56,90 only because my European S2 form just expired! >:(

I was wearing a white 3/4 top with horizontal big blue stripes and a dark blue jeans . My hair was attached and formed a medium bun :)

Nice to hear that everything went well as well as with speech therapist!

Where is the picture attached? ???
