Hello,
Throughout some of the sites I search, I keep seeing guys who actually do not have curves at all. The most recent being the models for the Peecock harnesses. I know that people say to build upper body so you don't see the hips but I don't even see the upper body on those pics.  Just seeing them makes me jealous.
Is this all the work of T or does it involve a lot of working out along with T? Or could they also have been on hormone blockers during puberty as well? From what I see, their body shape looks just like cis men...
Can fat redistribution or muscle building occur with natural/herbal testosterone?  Has anyone tried it?

I didn't like all the effects I got from prescription T nor did I take it long enough but I didn't gain the effects I wanted while totally getting the effects I didn't want due to my genetic makeup I guess but I am mainly interested in fat redistribution and hips getting smaller so that's why I was wondering if there was any hope for me at all.

I know the stupid bone structure will be the way it is but just looking at those images makes me wonder.
I was thinking of liposuction but not at this time.

The guys in the pics will likely be a combination of T moving the fat about, working out, and luck in that they may not have had naturally wide hips. remember also that photos can be angled, cropped and touched up so that they look a certain way

I haven't heard good things about natural T, but it is possible to build muscle without T (or so they say), it's just harder

I'm guessing simiarly to any models used to advertise a product; Peacock is choosing people who only have what's considered the 'ideal' body shape for men and may even use Photoshop. Never believe the models you see in adverts. I haven't been on the Peacocks website so I'm quite surprised that a company selling to trans men wouldn't show more of a variation of men's body types.

Teenagers being approved to take hormone blockers has only been a recent thing; I would say within the last 10-15 yrs. Before then there were a lot more gatekeeping professionals stopping you from getting medication; so I'd assume it's more likely that the models used work out; are photoshopped or have been on T for a while. Or they're using cis models.

I've never tried it but herbal T does not work. It's not strong enough to cause any actual changes or if it does so it's due to a placebo effect. If it actually worked trans people would forgo the gatekeeping and just take the herbal stuff instead.

Male puberty takes 5 years to complete. So you have to be patient. The effects you want may take longer than other trans men and for your hips to become smaller; the full 5 years is needed. It's also good to remember that even if you were born a cis man you may have also ended up with large hips depending on how chubby you are. Men come in all shapes and sizes; people won't equate you having hips to you being ftm.
They/them pronouns preferred.

It took about 18 months on T for me to see a noticeable difference in my hips. I have no curves now.

I have seen no anecdotal or medical evidence that would support the idea that testosterone boosters or "natural transitioning" will enable fat redistribution at the level that a therapeutic dose of testosterone does over time. If you do research into natural transitioning, you will find that you'd essentially be supplementing, changing your diet, and working out at a similar level to a bodybuilder to achieve any noticeable changes.

While I'm sure that works for some people to achieve their goals, I think HRT is the easier route for most - especially if fat redistribution is important to you. I would look into the negative side effects you experienced and see if there are other options or ways to treat the side effects (ie. trying gel if you were previously injecting, getting acne medication or seeing a dermatologist if acne is the issue, etc.).

Keep in mind that there are plenty of cis men out there with hips--we just don't see them in media since it's not the "ideal" shape.  So don't feel too bad.  A lot of it is simply genetics.  My fat hasn't redistributed but I already have pretty slim hips because it's my body shape.  Of course, I also have bird bones, so there are always downsides! ;)

I did look like I had more hips before I started T and my shoulders widened almost 4 inches in diameter.  This was without any real physical effort put in (for awhile I worked out once a week).  So T can immediately help some, too, but I have also dated guys with hips before.  So no worries!   ;)

My hips only spread after I came out (around age 23), so if I had gone on T right away, I would have had narrow hips. Unfortunately, in the city I lived in, with Asperger's on top of it, I wouldn't have gotten legal T. I was too scared to try to inject street T.

The age when your hips spread is due to genetics and/or pregnancy. Some women's hips don't spread ... which would be lucky if you're FTM. I just had a late bloomer skeleton, also didn't reach full height until about that age.

Folks seem to have a tendency to long for those "ideal" body shapes (thanks, television, Hollywood, advertising, etc etc).
Not all guys look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. Go look around at regular people. Cis men with hips, cis men with big butts. Cis women with narrow hips.

If you're trying to achieve a 'better' body for your own health or comfort, that's great--just don't buy into the 'perfect' body garbage that 'they' feed us.

I guess some of the changes of T happens so much quicker than others.  I am actually normal weight but the fat is in the areas I hate. I am just against drugs that's why I was looking into natural ways.  I took the gel form before and if I were to restart it, I would do the same method because then I can actually have control over dosage.
The effects that I didn't want were being hairy ( I was already hairy and shaving from time to time) and when I got additional facial hair, I even went to a laser hair removal but I didn't want to put up with the pain.
Another one being, acne (which never ceased to exist ever since 1st puberty, maybe it's from stress?) So I got acne that covered my entire face, so it multiplied tenfold.

Another one being voice... I don't want to lose the high pitch range anymore than I already have. At least right now, I am kind of able to control it until I lose it (it's not stable)

BUT IF, just IF taking a consistent low dose will help what I am seeking (even if not fat resdistributing from hips/thighs to belly but will help with building upper body muscles so the focus isn't on hips somehow) I am maybe willing to give it another shot...

Also, in reality what other people see of me is actually not my concern at all since I don't really "pass" in the first place.  It's literally how I see myself and being completely disgusted of it and hate myself completely.  So when I saw those pictures (yes, I am aware that they could have been photoshoped) but I even saw other FTMs  in videos who have no curves...

If I were to give measurements of my hips vs waist, would that help?

It sort of sounds to me like you would be better off without T.  The things you DON'T want are the things that T causes without active effort and that you can't get without T, while what you DO want--a larger upper body and bigger muscles--IS possible without T, just a bit more difficult.  So I would look for a bodybuilding trainer rather than going with T if you want a high voice and little hair on body or face.

That sounds reasonable especially since it took me about 3 months for the unwanted effects that most guys would love to have. I go to a fitness center already but I only go on the elliptical machines and use dumbbells at home.

I love elipitical machines by the way.

Someone was just telling me the other day when I was complaining about my female curves about men who have what is seen as a female fat pattern such as extra meat in the thighs and hips like I have. I was told my father had that fat pattern too and that's where I got it from. So I'm hoping with T and exercise I can tone up that area. Don't fret if you're not shaped perfectly, the point is you'll turn out to be the man you want to be, but may not be the perfect shape. We can't all look like a cookie cutter. A teacher once told me "this isn't a cookie cutter world".
