Any experiences with used binders?

I just got my first binder a couple days back. It's not doing the best job of compression but with a bit of a baggy shirt, it's more than satisfactory. It's a big step up from layers of stuff clothing (even if my chest is quite small!) It is of the undershirt-looking variety, reaches all the way past my waist.

I cannot order online due to a lacking of a credit card and such, so my only option was to go to a store that sells used ones in my city. They had around 10 ($5 each) and most were much too large, but I did find a M, which is still a little too large. However, I'm not too picky at the moment, this is good until I can afford a proper one.

I just want to hear if anyone else had a similar experience with used binders, or just stories with used binders in general. Maybe some tips for getting better compression out of one that aren't your size, too.

(This is my first post on this site, apologies if this is the wrong section for this).
FTM, noob here.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I am moving the thread to a place where it should get more traffic and more answers. I really haven't had any experience with binders but if you have money, you can buy a gift card at the store and use it to order online. Members often do that when they don't wish to disclose the fact they are transgender with their purchases. You will also find the FTM section has a fair amount of discussion about binders because fitting problems are pretty common.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Sometimes wearing a vest or t-shirt under a binder can help to hold things in place if it's a bit loose - i bought one and then lost weight so i wear a vest that I've cut in half under it.

There are also a lot of tumblr blogs that do free giveaways of new and used binders, it might be worth entering a few just in case! Make an account and search 'binder giveaway'.

If you have access to a sewing machine you could potentially take in a binder along the side seams - I've never tried this though so it's a risk!

You could go to a grocery store or pharmacy and get one of those pre-paid credit cards.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.
