I'm fairly shortly looking to book ffs (type 3 forehead reconstruction with hairline advancement and brow lift; hair transplants; chin and jaw contouring; feminising rhinoplasty; and possible upper lip lift and silicone cheek implants); and it's likely to be with one of the two surgeons based in Buenos Aires and I'm keen to hear other people's experiences of either.  I have quotes from both and Dr Rossi is around 25% cheaper than Dr DiMaggio; but I don't want to make decisions solely on price unless I have to.  Although I live in the UK, Facial Team is likely to just be out of my price range, and likewise Dr Zukowski (these four make up my shortlist).  Any and all advice and experiences would be welcome.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I don't know enough to advise you on surgeons however your thread is posted in the correct location and this section has a fair amount of activity. I suspect you will get several responses over the next couple of days so check back from time to time for results. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Whoops, I made my post in the evening and missed the fact this is in the wrong place. I will move it where it will be seen more.

best thing to do is search through the FFS sub forum for Dr Rossi or MdM patients, there is a number of us who have gone to either.  To get you started here is mine.  Yes, I would go back to Dr Rossi, if I thought I needed additional work, which I don't.

Hey,

There are differences and similarities between these two surgeons but overall, the outcomes I've seen are very similar. Both are some of the most aggressive forehead contouring surgeons for sure, with the ability to push the frontal sinus and bossing back up to a cm or possibly even more, depending on how big your sinus cavity is. Both have different techniques: Dr. DiMaggio uses a propriety technique that does not, in most cases, use titanium hardware to keep the bone in place as it's healing. Dr. Rossi uses an almost identical technique as Facial Team or Dr. Speigel (screws and plates). Either technique comes with possible complications but the outcomes are very similar. The difference in price comes from the fact that Dr. DiMaggio has been doing ffs for longer and uses a more modern hospital.  I went to Dr. Rossi. See my thread if you'd like - it's a few pages back and I'll be updating it. I've seen amazing outcomes for both surgeons but I've also seen cases where patients wanted revisions. Luckily both surgeons stand by their work and will do those revisions for only the hopsital/anesthesiologist fees. Each patient heals differently - it's difficult if not impossible to predict with certainty whether everything will go exactly as planned. I'm back in Buenos Aires right now to get a breast augmentation, facial fat grafts, and some revisions to the original work.

Aesthetically, their rhinoplasty, chin, and jaw work is very similar too. Even though I agree that it's best not to make your decision based on money alone, it is hard to say whether you should go to one or the other. Do as much research as you can as Deeiche said. And also, if you are coming out this far, look into getting hair transplants as well. So much cheaper here.

Hi, quite a few people on this forum have posted about Dr Rossi and MDM. From my experiences I would say that you would be far better going somewhere closer to home. I have been back to Buenos Aires +2 times for revisions, since my initial surgery. Each trip costs in excess of £2500, just for travelling, accommodation, and food etc. The stresses of travelling over there 3 times for surgery have been terribly exhausting, and financially crippling. When you read about this particular surgeon, you'll find that most of his patients have had to go back for revisions. I now have to go to FT (who at first, I too, thought were too expensive), to get them to clean up the mess that I've been left with. YES, my first thoughts after the initial surgery, were that a good job had been done, and I posted far too soon on this, and other forums about it, but then there were problems, problems, problems. Stay closer to home honey, it will work out much better for you financially,..... and in every other way.

Also all costs have escalated in Argentina, and with Sterling being weak against the U.S Dollar, you can now get an equivalent, or better deal for hair transplants with Wowcher. 1'000 hairs for £899, in all major cities of the UK.

I would love to stay closer to home for my FFS, but MDM is my only option who does aggressive type 3 forehead work that is within my budget. The doctors  in the USA either aren't craniofacial surgeons so they won't do type 3 work or they are way too expensive. I don't have 50k for FFS.
