So as my first therapy session is coming up I have started thinking about dating again. I have tried dating women back in high school but those never really worked out. I guess that's because even though I didn't know it at the time, I was really a woman. But as a woman I only found these girls attractive because I wanted to be like them. And I had always had thoughts about dating men ever since I was in middle school but have never tried it until this year. Those didn't go well either because they were gay. Not that there was anything wrong with that. But at that point I knew I was transexual and needed to start my transition. I wanted to start passing as woman so that I could start dating men who would love me for me. And see me as an actual woman, just packaged a little differently. So here I am again, about to take my first real step toward becoming the woman I know I am and I am ready to fall in love with the man of my dreams! I have even started to plan my wedding lol. So has anyone fallen in love and if so how hard is it to maintain that relationship? Was it hard finding someone who loved you for the real you?

Yes. It's possible, as sexual orientations of people are so much diverse. The most famous m2f transsexual here was married with a nice man about 10 years ago, becoming a headline here, and they have maintained the relationship like other ordinary couples. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harisu

It is very possible for a trans woman to have a normal relationship / marriage with a cis man. My husband and I are just one example.

Sure it is possible to date men if you are a heterosexual trans lady ! 

While I am still looking for Mr. Right, in the meantime since I went full-time as beautiful Jennifer I have had in-person sexual relationships with about 40 adult men, plus about 5 crossdressing men, about 3 trans ladies and just one cis lady. Many of these were one-night stands, but some of the men I lived with in Europe in 2015 for a few days or a few weeks at a time. For lack of a better word in English, maybe we could call this "live-in dates" ? Meaning I lived for a few days or a few weeks at the man's house as his housewife doing cooking and cleaning. Sometimes I had to pay for my own food but my roof was free on these occasions.

We found each other on a mainstream dating site. I don't think I am allowed to say which one. We talked and texted for a few weeks, before he made the 190 mile trip to see me. He fell in love at first sight, and it took me a short while to fall in love with him.

As with most men, I had to train him a bit, when it comes to what his household responsibilities are. We have our ups and downs, but nothing that would separate us. He has always treated me as tho I have always been a woman. I find that remarkable, since he has never been with a trans woman.

It irks him a little, since I am taller than he is, and (with mixed martial arts training), I am able to beat him up if I had to ... but that has never become an "issue".

We are about 90 to 95% compatible when it comes to likes and dislikes. That certainly helped things along the way.

I have a hard time believing in fairy tale romances, but I guess it's possible.... unless the movies you are referring to are "romantic comedies".
