Missed a day? People say it still stays in your system. Does anyone know about how long hormones stay in your system? Does my estrogen levels go back to male range if I don't take it within 24 hours? I've heard all different answers sometimes I take my hormones later in the day than the day before I've heard hormones leave your system in 24 hours and heard it can take months all different answers

From what i have heard ant-androgens have a short life in your system but not estrogen, missing a day should have no appreciable effect other than perhaps a spike in T which could effect your mood.

I have no links at hand currently to back that opinion up though.

In my early days of HRT I stopped a few times and it always took a while for the T to come back up. Estrogen may drop rapidly, but T does appear to be suppressed for some time. I could feel it when it came back, higher energy and crazy dysohoric thoughts.

Estrogen is stored in the body and can be held by fat or by converting it to estrone then back to estradiol. If you don't make a habit of it, you can go a few days and still have some estrogen in your system but it's best to keep constant levels in your system. If you have a spike in your blood stream, the half life is only a few hours but most delivery methods tend to avoid the spike. Sublingual tends to be the most common way of producing a spike and levels of estradiol could go from 1000 to 100 pg/ml over a 12 hour time period. Oral may not be the best deliver system but it produces pretty constant levels.

Im really good with not missing my pills, but if you need to set an alarm each day at the same time, that will help create the habit.
