Feeling nervous about transitioning

Hi after a long time I feel ready to transition now and I've made some small changes but my nerves are getting in the way and my biggest problem is even though I'm only 23 I've lost too much hair to grow it long. I'm sure a lot of people have felt like this but I'd appreciate any advice on how you got through it and started to transition publicly.
Also if anyone could give me advice about getting a nice wig and where to buy one.

Estrogen and Finasteride may bring back hair that you thought was gone forever.  I am 53 and before I started hormones, my hairline was receding fast on the right side.  I am not on Finasteride, but Estrogen alone seems to be bringing things back a little. 

In the meantime, wigs can be a lot of fun!  You can be a blonde, brunette or redhead depending on how you feel that particular day, and depending on what color hair goes best with the OOTD  (outfit of the day).

Wigs.com is a pretty good source of just about every kind of hair you could wish for.  If you can wait until October, they usually have a half price sale on Louis Ferre wigs (which are pretty high in quality).  Last October I got two high quality synthetic wigs that normally go for $272.00, for $136.00 each.  I got one blond and one brunette, depending on my mood and what look I want to present.  I am already planning more purchases for this October.

That's really great to hear about estrogen bringing hair back I always thought it wouldn't do that.
I just wish I knew when could start HRT though will probably be a while. And thanks for the tip il try and buy one from  there during the sale now most likely ^^
I'm also starting electrolysis soon but got any advice on hiding stubble on face the bluish colour is also a worry of mine

A local wig shop is a good place to purchase a wig and they are normally pretty helpful. They can also cut, style and teach you how to care for the wig. The prices might be cheaper on line but you are paying for service which is valuable when you are new to something.

As for beards, orange/red tends to counter blue. You may be able to find makeup that will do the job but this is a problem often faced on stage or camera so there are professional solutions available.

I feel your pain... I've been loosing my hair since...14 or forever!

A local wig shop is best, I got my first in person. For anything decent be prepared to spend some $$$. On-line prices are better if you already know what you need. A wig shop can save a lot of "Trial and Error" expense. Inexpensive wigs allow you to experiment with different lengths, styles and colors.

Coloring is tricky. best to start with your natural hair. BTW - If you are anything other then a stunning blond....  Don't even think about it

In general I pay about $150-$200 a wig for something (synthetic) that is difficult to tell it is a wig. Human hair is to pricey for this poor gal. Realistic hair and other clues help when you are 6ft tall and big everything from being easily spotted as "One of Those..."

I'm really nervous about going to a wig shop I have a rough idea what I want but I guess buying cheap wigs first to make sure is a better idea. Thanks for the ideas I'm really clueless about a lot of things :p

If you are nervous about a wig shop, call them up and ask for an appointment. One I knew had after hours when only a very limited number of people were in the shop. If they turn you down, you are only out a phone call.

Yeah I think il try that before I go it would make me more comfortable to explain a bit over the phone aswell I think  ^^

I went to a wig store far from my house and was scared like crazy lol. It helps to go there to try them on which helps pick the right style for your face shape.
