If you don't love Doris Day as Calamity Jane, there's no hope for you.  Of course, it's the 1950s, so at the end Calamity has to give up her wild ways and get together with tiresome Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel).

Doris Day sings "My Secret Love," a closeted gay anthem of the time.  Looking back, it's shocking that a movie with this strong a gay/trans subtext could have been made in mainstream Hollywood in those days.
