I just got my E levels back and it was 6,000. They have taken me off E. for a week  :'( . Why take me off instead of just lowering my dose?

Depends on the scale, but that is either very high or extremely high.

Why stop taking it instead of lowering your dosage?
It needs to get used, before you should take anymore.

It's kind of like when you get it by taking a shot. You don't take a shot everyday. It's every 7 to 14 days.

Just remember, more isn't better. It can be dangerous.

the Doctors office called back about 30 minutes and explained that. I was compliant when taking it I did not take more than prescribed because I know it can be counterproductive. I wonder how it got that high and asked as well they did not know.  How long will the E be in my system and should I expect a crash before next week? KarynMcD thank you for your help I really appreciate it.

Not every body handles E the same way. In my case, I have a healthy liver and my  total estrogen is about 730 and my  estradiol is 51 pg/ml. My liver converts pills to estrone almost as soon as it sees it. I know somebody and the doctor keeps cutting her dosage back but she still turns in high number for estradiol. Depending on your history, you might be intersex if the doctor needs to greatly reduce your levels. As I have seen a couple of members who were male externally but also could produce estrogen. It's a little early to know what's going on but this could be interesting.

I've been at high levels since I started injections and generally feel fine. What day of your injection week did you do the test? I have to wait at least 4-5 days after my injection before they can test my levels else they're super high, like 4,000+ pg/ml. If you're at 6,000 then you should be ok E wise through the week until you can get back on.

On another note @Dena
I haven't been checked to see if I'm intersexed or not but my doctors were concerned as to why I responding the way I was even at the lowest dose of injections. So I wonder if that might have something to do it with it. My body just seems to eat E. If I fall below 300 pg/ml I start to feel really crappy.

About being intersex I was wondering that myself but thought I would have known with all the medical stuff I have been through like open heart.

It's possible your intersexed, but for sure the they want the lowest affective dose. My being intersex is causing my Endo all sorts of headaches. Hugs

What are some questions I should ask when I go in next week to check if I am intersex? I don't want to go in blind.

One of the things that is important to do is often we have to connect the dots for our doctors. This means do you remember or recall any signs or symptoms that lead you to believe you are. In my case, my is the proof considering the result was they tried to do what they called back then a "Normalizing Procedure" not to mention other things that were shared and experienced that resulted from my being intersex. They need something that will help them understand and know what to look for. Otherwise if the only proof you have is the hormones they are going to try and figure that out and try to rule many other things out first. I hope that helps. Hugs

I know my pre-hrt 40.2 is high but your 49.3 is higher, I know in medical tests a difference like that can mean a lot or not much, do you know?

My estradiol levels range from 1,500-4,000 pg/ml. Blood tests show everything to be normal.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

My pre HRT Estradiol level was 43.4 pg/ml.  But that was along with a pretty high T level.  So, I am just weird.

I haven't had my first blood tests post-HRT but, wow, my pre-HRT blood tests listed my estradiol level at 5.7 pg/ml.  Of course my testosterone was listed as <20 ng/dl due to the orchiectomy so that might have something to do with it.

a month ago my total estrogen was 2700; I had it checked again a week later and it was still over 500. I'm having it checked again tomorrow, and I don't plan to restart HRT until it is ~200.

I go back on Thursday to get them tested I hope I can go back on I know the estradiol is still in me working but there is something about taking my dose that helps me feel better

I know the feeling, but try to relax, and hopefully you will be able to restart HRT when your lab results come back.

Uhm, 6k is a bit excessive.   By a factor of... too much.   I'm at 318, which is about as high as a normal woman reaches.   That's, just too much.
