So ive organized a shopping day with one of my girlfriends we are gonna go to the mall and buy makeup and clothes. I wanna take baby steps and get some panties and lounge shorts, but Im just really nervous. I try to keep telling myself its not a big deal but then another part of me tries to force me to stop and mskes think its not right and abnormal. Should I just do it, and wear what I want or is it risky?

Do it!

It may feel risque but that is all the more reason to do it.

Once you get past the every eye on the store is watching, it is very pleasurable.

Risky? How? Credit card wise maybe.

Have a great time.

Wow, neat, you are finally going for it! That first time out was one of the scariest things that I had ever done and I am so so glad that I did it! Go for it!

Now, a couple of tips that made it easier for me.

Listen to your girlfriend, you trusted her enough in the first place, trust her on what to wear that will fit in with where you are going. She knows that stuff, you probably don't. Listen to her about what to do in the stores, she is the expert.

Pick a place far enough away from your regular hang outs that you are confident that none of your friends will be there. This is all about your comfort levels.

For me, I used gift cards or cash, a bit shy about using my credit card or needing to show an ID.

Go and enjoy yourself. Sure it will be scary but you will be doing what you have been dreaming about, make it count.

Good luck,
Anne

Just realize most people are really only concerned about themselves. Their all there to do their own thing and won't look twice in your direction. Also what we think other people are thinking is pretty far off the mark most of the time. As long as you act confident and don't hesitate no one will wonder why you are there.

Now you could always go out of your way to see what people will notice just for kicks. Such as finding the weirdest combination of items you can find to checkout with for reactions at places like Walmart.

But really I say you should be able to just wear what's comfortable for you. For instance I started off with some different types of bras, but I found that for me sports bras are the most comfy and sizing is pretty straight forward. There seems to be more give in sizing than with traditional bras.

Shopping is really fun, if sometimes hard to keep the cost down. Remember if something doesn't fit right you can just return it so keep receipts. Anyway good luck with your first shopping haul! <3

You are right the clerks just want to make a sale. If you need help ask them. Some of the best times I have been shopping is when I ask for help and tell them this is for me. To a sales clerk they smile and start to help and really start to chat.
