Being "fully" transitioned without the need for HRT?

Is this recommended and/or a popular way to transition?

I have realized overtime that my libido is important to me. For that reason I would not like to continue HRT, but would still like to finish off full FFS and get top surgery. Also I am not even halfway done with electrolysis. Will being off HRT affect electrolysis results in some negative manner? Thanks everybody! :)

If you're MTF, without an anti-androgen, whatever genetic male pattern baldness is in your destiny, remains in your destiny...

Yes I am MtF.

Unfortunately I was already cursed with male pattern baldness haha, and HRT did not help me. I resort to wigs and extensions as a result. So baldness isn't of concern to me like it used to be.

Perhaps you're HRT simply needs adjusting. Some cis-women need extra testosterone for libido. You might find yours is suppressed too far.

Roni, what do you mean by "fully" transitioned?

I think that means different things to different people.  For you, does "fully" transitioned mean getting a vaginoplasty?  Or maybe an orchiectomy?  Or maybe no bottom surgery at all?  Any of those are perfectly fine endpoints to a transition, as long as you're happy.

I guess the answer to your question depends on what "fully" transitioned means to you.

Yes, going off HRT will make hair try to grow back in places where you want to get rid of it. That's what testosterone does. So you can continue to fight the fight against body hair, but you're fighting at something of a disadvantage if you're not on hrt.

But no, you don't have to stay on testosterone. My insurance now covers GRS and they have a clause whereby patients must be on HRT for a year as a condition of coverage, so it can have some repercussions like that. Similarly you might need HRT as a condition of a doctor's not to change your gender marker on your driver's license, passport, birth certificate, etc. — but once you do that, nobody will be checking that you take your meds.

You should absolutely transition fully, and define fully as whatever it means for you, given your goals and your means and your priorities in life.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

I found that electro was never fully over before I started HRT - every few years a few new stragglers would develop and off I would go and get zapped again.

I agree with Anonyms - perhaps you need an adjustment in dosage so that T is less suppressed and that might be enough to get your libido up

So the labido is the primary reason then go to good Endo and see what can be done. Many beautiful tgs still have a penis and are on hrt.....they also worry like you about their labido. i agree with Anony but find a good endo first.

I wish you good fortunes on whatever your final transition choice may be...let us know as it would be very interesting
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.
