Hi everybody, I take estradiol valerate pills and I get a shot of an injection that contains estradiol and progesterone once monthly, so I take pills too to compensate my hrt. I sent a mail to the manufacturer´s of my pills asking them if I could take these pills sublingually as I have been doing for some years. They answered that the pills I take are designed to be taken orally, so my question is, any of you has experienced something similar with your pills, I mean your doctor or the manufacturer´s has told you to take them sublingually or all the pills can be taken sublingually? I am a little bit confused about this topic. In my country there is no available micronized estradiol pills, only estradiol valerate pills, does that make a difference? I do not feel the same taking orally, maybe it is psichological, but I want to take my pills sublingually, and they dissolve easily under the tongue. I have read many post of girls taking Progynova sublingually and getting good results, my pills are similar and they are not sugar coated as strong as Progynova are!!! Any experience with estradiol valerate pills sublingually? Most prospects of pills say take it with a glass of water, so sublingual is like an experiment?

Are you sure it's progesterone and not hydroxyprogesterone caproate or dihydroxyprogesterone acetophenide (the latter being associated with prolactinomas in rats and perhaps in transwomen as well) or even medroxyprogesterone acetate (also associated with health problems)? Please specify brand name and/or exact substances, it would be helpful.

Injected progesterone is quickly metabolized and by days 2, 3, it will all be gone.

According to http://www.bayer.in/products_womens_healthcare.php
"It is a Micronised, esterified estradiol valerate obtained from natural source. Indicated as hormone Relacement Therapy for estrogen deficiency symptoms in peri and postmenopausal women." For Progynova.

If micronized, it can be taken sublingually, as particles are small enough to cross the membranes.

Hi kay, the injection that I use is perlutan, which contains dihydroxyprogesterone acetophenide. I use this injection as an antiandrogen, because it lowers testosterone levels very quickly, this injection is very used in transgenders from South America, doctors usually prescribe it, but not more than two shots monthly because some doctors say that this type of synthetic progestin contained in the injection can be converted into testosterone and be a little bit androgenic. And talking abouy progynova  I think we are talking about the same pill, here in South America and in North America, Bayer is the manufacturer, and making my own researches I found that it is a sugar coated tablet with some excipients and the instructions say to take it with some water. I did not find anything that says that it is a micronized pill, but I will try Progynova, it takes some more minutes to dissolve under the tongue, but if it gives me the results I am looking for, great for this pill!!! Thanks for your reply, if you have more information, let me know it!!!

I would question whether this progestin is indeed androgenic and ask for studies that confirm this. 2 of 8 prolactinomas reported in transsexual women were associated with the use of Perlutan. For me, that is reason enough to stay away from it. To each their own. Have a discussion with your doctor, I'm not an expert nor a health professional.

I provided the link that confirms Progynova is indeed micronized estradiol valerate. That is all the info I have. You can check with the company to be certain.
