So... mine is closer I can feel it. However I had questions, so I am hoping that some here can give me some answers;

1- How bad does it hurt during recovery?
I know everyone's pain tolerance is different, but just a general census will do here.
It is one thing that scares the hell out of me.

2- Anything I should know pre and post op?
Just what to expect in general

3- How to clean yourself thereafter?
I doubt one will be able to take a shower after a surgery like that.

4- How long does post-op recovery take?
Basically how long will that man society calls my "father" be yelling at me calling me stupid, idiot, and f@g...

5- When will I be able to walk around after?
Like to do the basics food shopping, going back to work (obviously for minimal duty), getting myself to the restroom, and do the basics of life?

There's a big PDF describing one woman's experience with Suporn in Thailand. I think she had it harder than most.

1. If it hurts more than you can stand, request a stronger pain killer. I did it without pain killers of any type but others need more.
2. Keep asking questions and reading the threads here. I have learned so much about the surgery in my time here and there is more to learn. I haven't been pushing learning about it because I don't need it but I read pretty much everything as a moderator.
3. For about the first 6 days you will be limited to a sponge bath (now days they used prepackaged cleaning wipes). After that you will be free to shower but baths will be off limit for a while.
4. Maybe for the rest of your life depending on how stubborn he is. Remember that you are doing this for yourself and not for him.
5. I was restricted to bed for the first 6 days. Now they have you on your feet after 2 days and you are back to normal after 6 to 8 weeks. I returned to work 2.5 weeks after surgery but I don't recommend it however you should be able to care for your self after a couple of weeks if you take it easy.

Well... I am for SURE not traveling to Thailand. I have a doctor here, and they are working with my insurance... I never planned of out of country travel. Nor did my fiancé.

She and I are staying in the US, unless it's recreational travel.

Part of what she talks about is specific to the surgeon/location, but the rest is probably not.
