The brainchild of partners Richard Kimmel, Serge Becker and Simon Hammerstein, of the New York theatrical family, it was said to be inspired by the famed Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone, Ariz.

Performances at The Box range from transgender strippers to stepdancing trios and Mexican wrestlers.
